Ensure you use unique text throughout your webpage description
By taking the time to write new and unique descriptions about the caravan, caravan park and local area you are not only helping visitors to your webpage listing, you are also helping yourself.
Do NOT copy existing text. When you use text that already appears elsewhere online this 'damages' the chances of your webpage listing acheiving its maximum potential in attracting visitors, even if the text is from another advert that you own and wrote yourself.
The reason for this is because search engines do not like content that is duplicated. If a search engine such as Google finds content on your ukcaravans4hire.com webpage that is copied from elsewhere then your listing on ukcaravans4hire.com could be ignored and not placed in to the search results. This means your advert could be missing out on lots of potential visitors.
Tip: Instead of writing 'Our site is a nice place to stay' think about phrasing it such as 'Primrose Valley Holiday Park is a nice place for a caravan holiday'. By including words people are searching for (eg, 'Primrose Valley' 'caravan holiday') you increase the chance of search engines showing your webpage when someone searches for what you are offering. We recommend writing 3 or 4 paragraphs of text as a minimum.
Include accurate photos on your webpage, include big photos if possible
Photos are one of the most important features on your webpage listing, we constantly see those webpage listings with no photos receive a much lower percentage of enquiries than those with photos.
If you have recently changed something in your caravan then make sure you update the relevant photos on your advert. This helps to manage people's expectations when they come and stay at your holiday home as they will have already seen an accurate representation of where they are going to stay.
For those who have advertised on the website for a long time you may not have realised that we now offer a Large Photos feature. This allows your photos to be displayed at a size of up to 600 x 450 pixels, this is 3 times larger than the size of the rotating photos shown on the advert page.
To Upload Photos
To use the Large Photos feature all you need to do is resend any photos you want to show on your webpage listing by email to us and we will use the Large Photos feature on your advert by default when uploading the photos. You can send through any existing photos you have showing or some brand new ones, up to a total of 12 photos.
Use the Availability Calendar or Pricing Feature to show available dates
By showing people the dates your caravan is available for hire you are helping not just visitors to your webpage but you are also saving yourself some time by cutting out a good number of wasted enquiries.
It does take a small amount of effort to start using/keep up to date with the Availability Calendar or Pricing Feature but the benefits are well worth the effort you put in.
Availability Calendar - Great for showing people a quick overview of availability. Along with people finding your advert using our 'Advanced Search' feature your available hire periods will get listed on the 'Search by Dates' feature.
Pricing Feature - Great for showing details of specific hire periods available. Along with people finding your advert using our 'Advanced Search' feature your available hire periods will get listed on the 'Search by Dates' feature AND you also have the option of setting hire periods as a Late Deal to show on the 'Late Deals' feature.
To start using either of the features please login to the members area and click on the ‘Update Pricing and Availability’ tab. Once on the Pricing and Availability page simply select which option you want to use by clicking on the button next to your preferred choice. A login link will then be displayed which you can click on to access the update area for the chosen feature. I recommend reading the instructions found in the update area before adding any hire dates.
Add honest Reviews from your past customers to the webpage listing
When people are looking to put their trust in something they often look for reviews from past customers. By adding reviews you have been left by past customers you can greatly increase the chance of someone deciding to make an enquiry for your caravan.
Please Note - As unsual as it may sound there has been research to suggest that 100% positive reviews can be viewed as suspicious. Often people like to know that if any problems did occur for past customers that the problem was quickly resolved. A review where someone has mentioned a small problem that was promptly resolved can actually be a good thing to include in the review section of your webpage listing.
To Add Reviews
Please login to the members area and click on the 'Update Reviews and Tools' tab. On the page that you are taken to you can add reviews to your webpage listing. Once you have entered the details for a review simply scroll to the bottom of the page and click on Submit Form. The review should show the next time you visit your webpage listing and/or refresh the page.
If possible show more than one contact method on your advert
While it seems email is the preferred choice for most when making enquiries you could still be losing potential customers by not showing a telephone number. Not everyone has an email address or even a PC (maybe they are browsing the website from a library, etc). Others are not comfortable sending and receiving emails.
If you are concerned about displaying a personal phone number why not think about buying a cheap, basic pay as you go mobile phone. In most mobile phone shops you can purchase a new mobile phone with a new phone number for under £20, you can then use this new phone exclusively for dealing with caravan enquiries while letting your caravan.
