There is a bus service from the main office on site to Morrisons store adjacent to the town centre. McDonalds, the beach, miniature railway, indoor bowling and Pleasure Land which has waltzers, dodgems, etc is a 5min walk from the Red Lion Carvan Park.
A must do for any visitor is the cliff walk. So is the caves at Achmithy, also Arbroath Abbey is worth a visit to anyone interested in history.
Arbroath is famous for its sea foods including smokies, whelks, lobster, etc. Available from the harbour are sea fishing trips.
About 1/4 of a mile from the Red Lion Carvan Park there is a golf course, from Pleasure Land there is a small train that takes you into Arbroath.
Carnoustie links is just a short drive away. A 20mins drive from the Red Lion Carvan Park is Dundee the home of R.R.S Discovery, captain Scots ship which carried him and his team on their ill fated attempt to reach the North Pole. You can visit the ship at Discovery Quay, well worth a visit.
This area of Scotland has many famous historical sites like Glamis Castle which is aprox 40mins drive from the Red Lion Carvan Park. Scone Palace where the crowning of Scottish kings took place is approx 1hrs drive. There are far too many historical sites and places of interest to list them all.
