A warm welcome awaits you at Lowtrow Cross, where we have two very well equipped static caravans for hire situated on a small, quiet and exclusive 4 star Adults only touring site, set in lovely countryside on the edge of Exmoor National Park, on the B3190 7 miles from Dulverton and 10 miles from Watchet.
Some of the places of interest include Dunster with its medievel castle, Knightshayes Court, Dunkery Beacon the highest point on Exmoor, Tarr Steps, Minehead, Porlock and the West Somerset Steam Railway. The beach at Blue anchor Bay is just 25mins drive away.
Wimbleball Lake is a few minutes drive or a half hour walk away through the woods. Overlooking Wimbleball is Haddon Hill, a piece of moorland with it's own herd of Exmoor Ponies and Buzzards circling overhead. There are miles of uncrowded walking on Haddon or around the Lake, as well as off road cyling routes and fishing, boating and wind surfing on the Lake.
Each caravan has two bedrooms, one spacious double with hairdryer and clock radio and one twin room. A bathroom with shower, flush toilet and basin. The kitchen has a full size cooker, fridge, microwave, toaster, coffee pot and electric kettle, as well as plenty of cooking utensils and crockery. The spacious lounge area has comfortable seating with gas fire, flat screen tv, cd player and either a video or dvd player, with lots of videos and dvd's to watch on days when the weather is not so good.
Guests have use of facilities on site which includes a freezer, a library/ book exchange, plenty of tourist information and a small, but very well stocked shop selling essential items and local produce including fresh milk, free range eggs, butter, cheese and honey. The statics are cleaned to the highest standard and equipped with everything you need to make your stay a pleasurable one.
Outside each caravan, which are well spaced apart, is a patio with table and chairs, in a peaceful setting at one end of the site surrounded by shrubs and trees, with many birds nesting and feeding on site.
Well behaved dogs are welcome free of charge, all we ask is that you do not allow them in the bedrooms and if you are unable to keep them off the seating, then please bring your own covers and towels for muddy paws. We expect all owners to clean up after their dogs anywhere on site, there is a short dog walk on site, ideal for first and last thing, there is plenty of excellent walking locally.
Adjacent to the site is a traditional, country Inn serving home cooked food and local real ales 7 nights and 5 lunchtimes a week.
We look forward to welcoming you to Lowtrow Cross so you too can enjoy what this wonderful part the country has to offer.
