Our beautiful caravan is sited on the banks of the tranquil river Avon. Double glazed and centrally heated it is a wonderfully comfortable and relaxing place to come. Either reading on the balcony watching the world go by or use as a base to visit the surrounding beautiful countryside and its historic towns. You don't need a car to go to Stratford, the town is only 3/4 of a mile away and can be reached by regular buses from Tiddington, or from the Old Warwick Road or by river taxi. The towns of Warwick, Kenilworth and Leamngton Spa are only a few miles by car.
Of the two bedrooms, one is a double with king sized bed, TV and en suite bathroom with shower WC and washhand basin.. The second has two single beds and opposite is the family bathroom with shower, wc and washhand basin. Towels and linen are provided. The large wooden floored kitchen has a table and four chairs, and is well equipped with gas oven/hob, large fridge freezer, microwave, toaster, kettle, cooking utensils etc. The light, sunny lounge has a flat screen TV, electric fire and looks out to a view of the river through the patio doors which open on to the decking area, where there is a table and seating for four people.
Situated in a wonderfully quiet setting close to the graceful Avon, a leisurely few minutes walk will take you past swans, ducks, fishermen and cruise boats from Stratford itself, until the foot bridge over the river is reached. Immediately in view across the river is the new Clubhouse, a stunningly beautiful wooden building providing food and drink and entertainment on certain nights. Once over the footbridge you will see the river taxis waiting to take you the 15 minute journey down the river to Stratford. Further along the path there is a Bowls Club to the right where weekly entertainment is provided, or carry on for ten minutes to the small village of Tiddington. Here there is an extremely well stocked Spa Shop, Indian and Chinese Restaurants as well as a pub and tapas bar.
Worth noting are further details of the new Clubhouse on site . It is a beautifully designed building, of wood and on stilts, the two floors are accessed by lift and stairs and boasts restaurants, bars, lounges, and a large entertainment room. It is surrounded by a balcony with stunning views of the river and surrounding countryside. There is a play area for children, swings, climbing frames etc.
We bought the caravan because we love Stratford and its surrounding Cotswolds, so I'm sure you won't be disappointed to learn that there are plenty of events planned every year in Stratford. The town has many fine restaurants, bistros and cafes. River cruises run every half hour up and down the Avon, one of which combines fine dining and a river cruise, definitely recommended. There are of course an abundance of shops to suit everyone. Historic buildings abound and are too many to mention here. The Royal Shakespeare theatre has been rebuilt, along with a viewing tower which offers superb views of the town and surroundings. There is a fine leisure centre and race course.
For the fishermen there is 1.5 miles of free fishing on site.. There are three golf clubs within walking distance.
We have a dog ourselves and know the pleasure of taking a dog on holiday, so we welcome small well behaved dogs. Anything larger than a cocker spaniel would have to be by special arrangement. We do charge £20 per week if you want to bring your dog along and they must not be left on their own in the caravan. Park rules are that dogs must be kept on a lead at all times when walking around the park and of course I guess we hardly need to remind dog owners to pick up after your dog. We do provide poop bags in case you forget your own.
