Harlyn Sands is family run and a happy environment in which to spend a great holiday. There are many National Trust properties and gardens nearby, a sealife centre, a zoo in Newquay, historical landmarks, wildlife and a Birds of Prey centre all within easy driving distance.
Tesco at Wadebridge (8 miles away) will deliver to Harlyn Sands via their website. Alternatively, Padstow (3 miles away) has a small Tesco for some everyday items.
Harlyn Sands has a great surf for those of you who like to take to the surf boards, plus there is a school at Harlyn which teaches watersports.
Padstow, now made famous by Rick Stein, with his many seafood restaurant's and shops. His restaurant is very busy so will need to be booked weeks in advance. A ferry runs constantly throughout the day from Padstow, across to Rock where again there is a lot to explore and to visit St. Enodoc's Church and walk in the footsteps of the late John Betjeman.
Port Isaac is around 12 miles away and is the setting for the ITV series Doc Martin starring Martin Clunes. Another opportunity to see some fantastic scenery including a boat trip where seals and dolphins make an occasional appearance.
Harlyn and Trevores Head is also known locally as a prime location for bass and pollack fishing.
