Caravan Park + Local Area Information
|
Cosalt Carlton, 2 bedroom caravan on Maribou Holiday Park, St Merryn, near Padstow, North Cornwall.
This is the first season we have let our caravan out and so far, all our guests, without exception, have been delighted with both the caravan and the park. We haven't had one single negative comment. Mr and Mrs Wheeler, who stayed in the caravan in July have recently emailed the following - "Thank you for a great holiday. Best value for money we've EVER had. Caravan exactly as described, PERFECT. We can't wait to come again"
The 2011 season is now over and the site is closed until Easter next year. We are now taking bookings for next year and anybody booking before the end of October, will be charged the same prices as this year.
The caravan is 36ft long and 12ft wide but has just two bedrooms, so there is plenty of space. The lounge/dining area has all the facilities you would expect and also has a fold-away bed, making the caravan suitable for up to six people.
The main bedroom has a double bed, plenty of cupboard and wardrobe space and an en-suite toilet and wash-basin. The second bedroom has two single beds and a cupboard/wardrobe unit. (One of the single beds folds up if you need room for a cot). There is also a good-sized bathroom with shower, toilet and wash basin.
Duvets and pillows are supplied but you will need to bring your own sheets, duvet covers, pillow cases and towels.
The kitchen has lots of worktop space, a full size gas cooker, fridge, microwave, toaster and is fully equiped with enough crockery, cutlery and cooking utensils for 6 people. Many caravans for hire, have just the basic essentials - ours has much more than that!
The caravan has gas central heating and double glazing. There is a TV and DVD player and also there is a Sky+ dish fitted so if you want to bring your sky box from home, it will work fine.
Unlike most caravans, only the two bedrooms are carpeted. The kitchen, dining and seating areas have an attractive wood-effect floor which is easy to clean and makes the caravan especially suitable for families with dogs or young children.
Outside, we have recently had built(May 2011)a large wooden decking area, which has a gate to keep children and dogs in. There is a patio set for al fresco dining.
Maribou Holiday Park is a quiet, friendly, family-run site with some facilities but not the fancy amusements, indoor pools, kids clubs, etc which you get on other (much more expensive) sites. There is a clubhouse and bar (with reasonable prices) and during the summer holidays and most weekends, there is evening entertainment, free of charge, in the clubhouse.
Next to the clubhouse is an excellent cafe/takeaway/fish and chip shop offering a comprehensive breakfast and evening menu at very reasonable prices. On Sundays they do a superb roast dinner for just £5 (or £3.50 for children)
On another part of the site there is a new, well-stocked Londis shop, a large bar (with entertainment and Sky TV), an Indian restaurant, some tennis courts and a dog walking area.
Maribou Holiday Park is an ideal location for people who want to go walking or surfing or who want to get out and about and enjoy all that Cornwall has to offer. The whole of Cornwall (including Lands End) and much of Devon (including Dartmoor) can be reached in well under two hours.
If you don't want to travel far, Padstow is only 3 miles away, Crealy Great Adventure Park is 5 miles away and there are 7 glorious beaches within a five-mile radius (some of which are dog friendly). The world-famous Eden Project is about 30 miles and the (lively) town of Newquay is about 20 miles away from Maribou Holiday Park.
We require a £50 deposit on booking and the full amount sent by cheque, cash or bank transfer at least 4 weeks prior to your holiday. Your £50 deposit will be returned within a couple of weeks after your holiday (assuming there are no breakages or damage to the caravan). Gas and electricity are included in the price.
