Caravan Park + Local Area Information
|
Lipton Farm is owned and run by us, the McCombe family. We keep a small flock of about 50 Poll Dorset sheep and have some rare breed hens. The other characters on our farm include: "Maggie", a well behaved and friendly labrador puppy; "Flint", a handsome Connemara pony; Lizzy a cute 29" miniature Shetland and her scrumptious foal (born Nov 2008) named Charlie.
Lipton Farm itself dates back to the 17th century and a lot of character still remains around the site of the old farmyard including an old stone butter well in the meadow by the stream.
A private tarmac drive meanders from the road, 1/3rd of a mile to the farm, making it an extremely peaceful place to stay. Its location is just 3 miles from the nearest beach at Slapton and it is close to the historic towns of Dartmouth and Kingsbridge. For the more adventurous amongst you, we are only 4 miles from Woodlands Leisure Park and less than 15 minutes drive from Blackpool Sands where you can hire equipment for all sorts of water activities.
The accommodation provided at Lipton Farm is a spacious, 3 bedroom static home nestling in our own valley with glorious, uninterrupted views of the meadow and woods beyond. It has its own large private garden (which is securely fenced) as well as an impressive raised decking area for those summer al fresco meals. Cars can be parked right next to you on the gravel area — so no worries carrying the bags!
The location is full of wildlife, from pheasants, foxes, badgers, cirl buntings, woodpeckers, hares, squirrels and rabbits.
Things to do Include
Walking in our own woodland. Help to groom horses and ponies. May have orphan lambs to bottle feed. Collect eggs from hens. Check on and feed the sheep
