Caravan Park + Local Area Information
|
Experience the wildlife and farm animals on a tranquil organically farmed croft which is also close to many exciting places and attractions to visit.
Peter and I re-established the croft of Laikenbuie which is situated in a beautiful hiddenglen four miles south of Nairn. The holiday home overlooks a loch surrounded by natural birch woods and bog meadows full of wild flowers.
You can watch roe deer and red squirrels, or perhaps glimpse a wild cat, or fox. We have seen ninty species of birds, including osprey fishing for brown trout in the loch, buzzard, red kite, barn owl, long-tailed tit and a greater spotted woodpecker which comes to the nut feeders.
The Moray Firth has many varied geographical areas all within easy reach. From long sandy beaches, through mature woods with cascading rivers, up to the ski slopes high in the Cairngorms. The climate is usually kind with only 23in of rain and plenty of sun. There are dolphins in the sea, monsters in the loch (or so we believe), deer on the ground and eagles in the air. If you take a little time to look for these and the other birds and animals you have a good chance of success.
With views over the loch our large modern caravan is 33ft by 10ft. It is Tourist Board inspected and very well equipped with a shower and toilet, full size gas cooker, electric fridge, cutlery and crockery, all cooking utensils, cleaning equipment and colour TV. The double bed and the bunks have duvets. Please bring duvet covers (or top sheet), bottom sheets, pillowcases, towels and teatowels - unless you want us to provide these at extra cost. The price includes gas and electricity.
Pisces has one double bedroom and one with 6ft bunks. The kitchen/living area is large with an attractive wood finish. With the dining area made into a double bed there is sleeping accommodation for a maximum of six.

"Thanks for yet another enjoyable stay. You always make us feel so welcome in your little part of "peace and plenty". We often think of you during the year - working and enjoying your home. We look up at the moon and say "the same moon will be shining on Laikenbuie"."

"Where do I start? What a fabulous week at Laikenbuie with amazing views in every direction. Kids had lots to do insides and out regardless of the elements (thankfully the weather was great). Therese and Peter have given all their thoughts on making your holiday here truly memorable. There is everything here in the lodge, it is clean, comfortable and a pleasure to stay in. I could sit and write a book, but sadly we have to pack. All I can say is, if it's paradise you're looking for hey!! look no further.."

"Thank you for a wonderful holiday. I enjoyed feeding the lambs and collecting the eggs. I also enjoyed looking at the animals and the ride on the tractor. See you next year."
