Caravan Park + Local Area Information
|
The caravan offers superb 37 x 12 feet, 2 bedroom (1 with en suite), 6 berth caravan accommodation. It has been well maintained and has a wonderful, sunny south facing balcony (not overlooked) with views towards the golf course and beautiful countryside.
The caravan is prepared to a very high standard and you will be personally met on site - no long queues.
Our caravan comes with all gas, electricity and water costs included. It is also protected by an alarm system and there is hard standing for one vehicle, with room for more.
The kitchen is fully equipped and has a fridge, gas oven and hob, microwave oven, toaster, electric kettle and iron.
There is a sink and drainer and plenty of worktop space with a range of cupboards for storage. All cutlery, crockery, serving utensils, pans and serving dishes are provided, together with a full range of cleaning materials.
The dining area has a round table with surround seating and a stool, while the lounge area has a fitted gas fire with wooden surround and fire guard. There is extensive lounge seating with a hidden pull out double bed, coffee table and Freeview flatscreen television/DVD and radio/CD player. Table lamps are provided for a more cosy low level lighting.
The main bathroom has a shower and toilet with wash basin and heated towel rail. There is a bathroom cupboard unit and an over sink mirror.
The master bedroom has an en-suite toilet and wash basin. It offers a large double bed, wall heater, 2 double wardrobes, bedside and wall cupboards, chest of drawers, and dressing table with vanity mirror.
The second bedroom has twin beds, a heater, shelf storage, a large wardrobe and additional wall cupboards over the beds.
Duvets and pillows are provided, but you will need to bring your own linen (quilt covers, sheets and pillow cases, etc) or rent them from Haven from £10 per bedroom. You will also need to bring your own towels and tea towels.
Outdoors, a table, chairs and parasol are provided for use on the superb balcony; A great place to unwind in the sun or at night, with outdoor lighting provided along the balcony. There are buckets and spades for the kids, plus beach chairs and windbreak. There are also a few clubs for a round of golf.
Thorpe Park
Within a short walking distance of the caravan is a shop and launderette and children’s play area with roller blading rink, tennis and crazy golf. Thorpe Park also has an indoor pool with water chute, separate children’s pool and a jacuzzi. Outdoor there are water flumes, a space bowl and a new lazy river.
The bars are family friendly and offer cooked breakfasts, snacks and a full evening menu. There is also a daily entertainment programme for kids and adults during the season. Haven passes are available for purchase at Reception and will be necessary for some activities.
Outdoor there are lots of activities including two fishing lakes, a nine hole golf course, pitch and putt course, playground, rides, climbing wall, trampolines, go karts, cycle hire and crazy golf. Some of these will require a small fee. In addition, there is a bakery and fish and chip shop on the park.
Cleethorpes & the local Area
The caravan is only a few minutes walk from unspoilt dunes and Blue Flag award winning beaches. The Humber estuary is teeming with sea birds and there are lots of walks nearby in the beautiful Lincolnshire countryside and salt marshes. There is a free train which runs around the site during peak holiday times. A public bus service starts a few minutes from the caravan and runs through Thorpe Park along the seafront into Cleethorpes, which is three miles away. A path and cycle route also take you into town along the beach and dunes.
Cleethorpes offers a wide variety of impressive attractions having benefitted from significant investment recently to improve facilities. Traditional favourites are still popular though with a miniature steam train and road train running along the sea front daily down to the beautiful boating lake area and leisure centre. There is also a wide, safe and flat promenade and it has a pier and many flower beds (Winner of Britain in Bloom 2009). There are lots of little cafes to sit and watch the world go by. But there are also modern bars, shops and great restaurants too. The popular Pleasure Island Theme Park is close to the Thorpe Park entrance and there is a small zoo and Discovery Centre by the boating lake. You can also take advantage of the multi-screen cinema and bowling alley with McDonalds and KFC which are all within a 10 minute walk of the park entrance.
A bit further afield (but still only a bus ride) there is Grimsby with its award-winning Fishing Heritage Centre to visit. In the area around Cleethorpes there is marvellous unspoilt countryside and beautiful villages, windmills and nature reserves.
The Lincolnshire Wolds has been designated an area of outstanding natural beauty with some great walks and scenic drives. Try Louth for its Farmers Markets and the lovely area of Hubbards Hills or Alford and its Craft Markets. Lincoln also offers a beautiful cathedral and castle with history. Or there is bike racing at Cadwell Park and horse racing at Market Rasen. Whether you want peace and quiet or action the area offers lots of choice.
