Caravan Park + Local Area Information
|
Our caravan is on a Haven (Bourne Leisure) site, known as Burnham-On-Sea Holiday Village. It is four miles from J22 M5, a ten minute walk to the beach and a twenty minute walk to the town of Burnham-On-Sea. From the caravan it is a seven minute walk to the site facilities and three minutes walk to the nearest lake (for the people who like to fish, permits can be purchased from the site complex).
There is a lot of wildlife around the site, examples, foxes, squirrels, rabbits, Canada geese, swans, mallards, coots, moorhens, plus several varieties of birds. (A lot of the waterfowl will let you get close to them, so that you can feed them). The Canada geese and mallards like to wander around the caravans to collect tit-bits from the holidaymaker's.
There are some ornaments, books and games in the caravan. The living/dining room was re-conditioned last year, with new upholstery, carpet, and, curtains. All of the net curtains are new.
Holidaymaker's can catch a bus to Weston-Super-Mare. The bus picks up from the site.
Car drives away:-
Animal Farm, Berrow.
Bodmin Moor.
Cheddar caves
Cricket St. Thamas
Dunster Castle
Longleat Safari Park
Wookey Hole Caves
Tropicaria (This is a land mark, due to its radio masts, as it used to be an old radio station, It is a mini-zoo, with many animals, birds, fish, tarantulas and snakes, tarantulas and snakes can be handled. There is a radio museum there as well.)
There is an indoor and outdoor children's assault course, also a large wooden pirate ship for the children to climb on. This area is not far from Blue Ancore and Minehead.
Minehead is where The West Somerset Railway starts from.
There are a lot of Somerset Cider Farms and Cream Tea Establishments in the area, plus coastal walks, walks on the Quantock Hills and circular walks outside of the holiday park and alongside of the Marina.
