Caravan Park + Local Area Information
|
The caravan is situated in south west Cumbria. Silecroft Holiday Park is a very popular caravan park sited at the base of Black Combe Hill looking out over the sea with miles of beach perfect for lazy days and good sea fishing.
Silecroft Holiday Park reception has a small indoor swimming pool, a suana and two pool tables. They also sell ice creams and drinks.
Just off site the local village of Silecroft has a small childrens park, and local pub that serves good food. Silecroft also has a horse riding stables that takes regular rides down to the beach and a golf course that is next to the beach.
The beach car park is where the local fishing club launch fishing boats, they have 3 tractors to get fishing boats out to sea. Membership is required for use of tractors.
About 2 miles further down the road the village of Kirksanton have there local country pub The King Billy which is well known for its good food and good ale.
Silecroft Holiday Park is a perfect base for day trips by car, train or for walks. Popular places to visit are Muncaster Castle (Roman Bath house nearby), Dalton Wild Life Park, Hard Knott Pass with Roman Fort, Waswater Lake, Windermere Lake, Hodbarrow nature reserve and Havrigg ski bar for watersports and trout fishing. Haverigg also has a good childrens park next to the beach.
Further up the coast at Ravensglass you can jump on the Little Ratty steam train that takes you up through the hills with stunning scenery with good walks starting from the last station.
Local town of Millom Has a supermarket and local shops. There are a number of good pubs and a night club. Millom also has the Bridge Cafe for the perfect full English breakfast and daily meals there is also 5 takeaways for Indian, Chinese, Thai, Cantonese and Italian cuisine.
At Silecroft Holiday Park you can have a holiday in a place well known for its kind and friendly atmosphere.
