Our modern holiday home is a 2013 Wessex Summer House 40 x 14ft with piped gas central heating, double glazing, and insulated.
It has two bedrooms - one a double, and two single beds, each with terrestrial TV.
Linen is included.
Two bathrooms, one with a bath, and one with a large shower.
The Kitchen is spacious, with fridge, freezer, dishwasher, cooker and hob, microwave and air fryer.
Adjoining that is a table with seating for six (two folding chairs in the cupboard).
The lounge has two comfortable settees (includes sofa bed), a coffee table, Wi-Fi, a TV with a Roku controller providing lots of channels and includes Netflix without charge.
The big deck has a table with a parasol from where you can enjoy the view, including the sea and enjoy beautiful sunsets.
The deck extends along the side of the lodge which has a storage box, in there are two sunbeds (only for use on the deck).
Outside, there is parking for two cars.
It is very quiet, with no through traffic.
For a short walk, go up to the hill behind the lodge for a view across the bay and Weymouth
.
Waterside Bowleaze Cove Holiday Park is friendly and impressively maintained.
There are two heated swimming pools (one outside), a spa and a gym (all chargeable per day or weekly.).
There is daily entertainment, which is included.
There is a large bar, and an outdoor bar (The Shack) next to the beach and two restaurants, one with a sea view.
There are deckchairs overlooking the beach and sea, and a cabin to obtain (non-motorized) water sports.
This whole area is very pleasant, with plenty of things to keep children busy.
The on-site Spar is handy (I recommend the freshly baked croissants in the morning), and there's a takeaway for fish and chips.
For breakfast, it's a small walk up to The Lookout and its views across the bay and Portland.
Walking from the park entrance, go straight across to the beach, or head east to walk along the cliffs (about 2 miles to Smugglers pub), or head west along the beach and if you feel fit, on to Weymouth.
Alternatively, take the regular bus service to Weymouth.
You can also access a couple of pubs in Preston by a short walk in a lane at the rear of the park (if you don't prefer exploring, ask for directions.).
