“We had a lovely break here.”

The caravan and site were great, well kept and clean. The location, right opposite the shore was lovely and perfect for walking our dogs. The only criticism was the bed was uncomfortable and would benefit from a new mattress

“Found caravan well equiped for a family, books, dvds etc, also air fryer, godsend.”

Outside maybe in need of some tlc. Comfortable and relaxing for what we needed it for however double bed could do with a new matress or thicker topper as springs uncomfortable. Site quiet for sept and not very well lit as stated so remember torch if taking dog. Right across road from beach so great for letting dog off lead. 10mins to stranraer by car. Port Patrick well worth a visit. Club house was quiet during week which was good for us just getting our dog use to sitting with us indoors whilst having a drink

“Just to address some of the points made by previous reviews.”

Yes, the outside of the van could do with a power wash and a tidy up, but it's an older van. Inside was homely and reasonably clean and tidy. There are a couple of areas that could use a bit of t.l.c but on the whole it's a very homely, cosy caravan with lots of little extras like soap, shampoos, hairdryer etc. A really good selection of adult and kids d.v.d"s which suited the grandkids. There were toys, board games and books. Enough towels for us all and a travel cot for the youngest grandson. We had a great holiday and we would definitely book again. It's a big thumbs up from us. The kids want to know when we can go again. Thank you for a lovely stay

“Very disappointed on arrival to see the state of the outside of the caravan and the decking.”

It looks like it's not been cleaned for years. The steps are rusty and there was a lot of weeds at the entrance (also weeds growing in the gutter) which would suggest it's not been very well maintained. The inside was clean enough and looked nice and cosy on first sight although it is clearly in need of decorating and blinds and curtains replacing. I did find the amount of air fresheners/reed diffusers/candles very bizarre The kitchen area is small and would be adequate were it not for the copious amounts of 'stuff' in the cupboards, not much room for storing food. Fridge freezer is a good size for 4 people. The cooker looked really nice but the oven door doesn't stay open when taking food out which I felt was dangerous as you need 2 hands to deal with hot food. The control knobs for the hob get very hot when in use. I do feel that from a health and safety perspective the whole cooker needs replacing. The settee and all 3 beds are really uncomfortable and in my opinion need replacing and there is far too much bedding and spare towels and 'stuff' in the wardrobes and cupboards. The bathroom is modern and clean (shower is really good). Lots and lots of toiletries which is appreciated (although we brought our own) but only one toilet roll (for 4 people for 4 nights). I did try to hoover before we left but unfortunately the stick hoover didn't work Overall this caravan is very old and tired and just needs a lot of love and attention

“We enjoyed a wonderful week in Pipers Place, 2 adults, 2 kids and 2 pets.”

The van was very nice, comfortable and cosy. It was fully stocked with essential supplies, DVDs, toys, towels and bed linen which is a lovely touch. We really loved the area especially the beaches. Would recommend and hopefully will be able to return soon.

“Very dated van needs mattress changing try getting blinds that work too many ...”

Very dated van needs mattress changing try getting blinds that work too many toys behind sofa that's nearly on the floor

- John, June 2026

Sorry to hear your feedback. Couple of things I can address. The blinds were replaced last season so if there are any issues with them then we were not aware of this. Clips if that is the issue can be replaced. Blinds are set so that they do not go all the way to the top of the window. However now you have raised this we will see what the issue is when we get down to the van. The toys are there for other guests children and are kept to a minimum. As far as we are aware it is a dolls pram that folds down that was left behind the sofa. There is also a small bag of dog toys for our 4 legged friends. Mattress will be replaced buy we need to be on site to allow the delivery in and take the old one to the refuse centre. We do take what guests say seriously so we look into your concerns raised.
