FOR 2025 WE WILL AGAIN BE TAKING MOST BOOKINGS ON A FRIDAY/MONDAY ARRIVAL.
HAVEN PRESS RELEASE AUGUST 2025 AS BELOW:
We’re aware of social media posts which suggest that Haven Parks are being used to house asylum seekers or are going to do so.
These reports are completely untrue.
We remain committed to providing our holiday home owners with a wonderful environment for you to enjoy.
Our parks are only for the use of holiday makers, our holiday home owners and their guests and this will not be changing.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Lakeland Leisure Park is situated at Moor Lane, Flookburgh.
This is about 7 miles from Grange-over-Sands and within easy reach of the Southerly Lakes such as Windermere, Coniston & Tarn Hows.
Other popular local attractions include Hawkshead, Grizedale Forrest Visitor Centre, South Lakes Wildlife Park at Dalton, Furness Abbey, Holker Hall, Laurel & Hardy Museum (Ulverston).
Whilst access by road is recommended the nearest station is at Cark around 3 miles away and buses run from the nearby village of Flookburgh.
We are also close to the local parachute centre if there are any daredevils amongst our visitors.
On the airfield they regularly hold a Sunday market during the main Summer months if you want to pick up a few bargains during your stay!
The park has a wide range of recreational/leisure facilities (Haven passes required - see below) including Indoor & Outdoor Swimming, Nerf Games, Family Club, Bars, Restaurant, Amusements, Children's play areas and a Large sports field for Football, Basketball etc.
A full sized 9 hole golf course is also available for visitors to use.
Pass prices vary according to dates of visit, length of stay and ages of visitors - please ask for details.
Please note that Haven play passes are not included in our prices.
Without passes visitors can still use the bar/restaurant and amusement arcade.
With passes visitors can use the swimming pool and club shows etc plus some other free Haven 'activities'.
Pass holders can also buy extra activities such as those on the boating lake.
Haven will only sell 7 day passes (from Mon/Fri), weekend passes (3 days) or midweek passes (4 days) in advance with other days only bookable at reception on arrival.
If booked before arrival you should be able to book activities in advance as some will be sold out in main holiday weeks.
There is a 'Nisa' convenience shop on site albeit for main shopping its worth a trip to the supermarkets at Ulverston (after which the fitter ones may fancy a walk up to the Hoad Monument if its a nice day!).
Or, you may wish to order your shopping online and have it delivered to the park!
There is a fast food outlet next to the shop (fish & chips etc).
There is also a Papa John's pizza operation in the main club area which usually does deliveries to caravans on site.
A Burger King has also opened in April 2025.
On the site we are located about 5 minutes walk away from the Leisure Centre on Cartmel Close which is near the former tennis courts which are now used during the day for organised activities such as Nerf training and Segways.
Its a few minutes walk to the leisure centre but the more spacious surroundings make up for this.
Our caravan is an Willerby Salsa Eco model with 2 bedrooms , one double and one twin.
The main bedroom has an en suite toilet/wash basin with a good sized separate bathroom.
All beds will be made up ready for your arrival .
Towels are not supplied, so please bring your own.
The caravan is 35 foot long model and has a good sized lounge & dining area with a modern kitchen with all the usual accessories i.e.
microwave, fridge, kettle, toaster, coffee maker etc.
The main cooker/oven is run on Calor gas.
The accommodation is ideal for up to 4 people although as the twin room beds are slightly smaller (2ft 6in width) than those in most homes, we recommend that it is best suited to families of two adults and two children.
Apart from the kitchen/bathroom all areas are carpeted with each room also having cupboard space/wardrobes.
We also have had decking fitted which provides guests greater enjoyment in the sunnier months!
This now has rattan style furniture for sitting outside on the warmer days!
We also have a separate BBQ area with tables & chairs provided.
Free Haven wifi is available in club/bars.
A new Vodafone mast on the park went live in April 2025 and should improve connectivity on the park.
Short breaks (weekends/midweek) can also be booked.
If prices are not quoted for short breaks, please feel free to ask.
If you have booked with us before you will notice that the booking fees have not gone up since last year!
Indeed many have reduced in price!
Our caravan classification is broadly in line with a Haven ‘Bronze’ unit albeit with slightly different heating systems available .
However ‘Bronze’ units do not normally have decking available not do they have a BBQ area.
By way of price comparison, for peak summer weeks in 2025 we are charging around a third less than equivalent Haven caravans/packages based on their advertised 'hideaway' prices (without play passes).
Other off peak dates are also competitively priced.
Also, for 2025, we shall be keeping to mainly Friday or Monday arrival days as this will assist in maximising our bookings at weekends outside the main school holiday weeks.
Where possible we shall however try and be flexible.
Whilst we have set arrival/departure times, if we can flex these we shall try to do so.
We also have to register guests arrivals with Haven to ensure you have easy access to the park.
To do this we shall require full names of adults in the party, contact email/mobile numbers and car registration details (if arriving by road).
