What’s the role?

UKCaravans4hire, part of Forge Holiday Group, have a brand new opportunity for an experienced UX Design expert to join our technical team as our Senior UX Designer.

Reporting to our Lead Developer, you will be responsible for designing and improving guest and owner user experiences on our digital platforms to support and drive conversion, guest bookings and property acquisition in line with our overall commercial objectives.

From day one, you will work closely and collaboratively with leaders and other subject matter experts within and across the wider Forge Holiday Group companies to build effective partnerships and drive solutions that meet the needs of both the user and the business.

As our UX expert, you will be responsible for:

  • Solving problems through an insight led, lean UX process with a user-centric approach.
  • Using multiple methods and techniques to generate design solutions and presenting these solutions articulately and appropriately to relevant stakeholders.
  • Connecting with and understanding the needs of the user through relevant questioning and discovery.
  • Working with stakeholders to gather and understand design requirements, planning work across all phases of design using a structured approach and collaborating with researchers to deliver informed design solutions that are fit for purpose.
  • Collaborating with developers on solutions and design handovers.
  • Owning, championing, and driving improvements to UX tools and processes.
  • Influencing and shaping product roadmaps and key deliverables.

The role is hybrid working between home and the office with an expectation that you will work from our Huddersfield office a minimum of one day each week for group collaboration, in-person meetings and connecting meaningfully with your colleagues.

You will be an exceptional communicator, influencer and team player who is highly skilled in collaborating effectively with colleagues across different skill sets and specialisms. An ability to articulate design decisions to stakeholders across the business in a clear, concise, and adaptable communication style is really important.

In addition to this, you will have:

  • Significant experience working in a similar role.
  • Knowledge of multiple design methods and principles and how to apply them.
  • Experience using design and prototyping tools e.g. Moqups, Sketch, Framer, or similar.
  • Experience using research and insight tools e.g. Superzoom, ContentSquare, or similar.
  • A good understanding of A/B testing and experimentation.
  • Comfortable working with both qualitative and quantitative data.
  • A good understanding of research methods and practical application.
  • Strong experience turning research insights into design solutions.
  • Understanding of human biases or behaviours and how they can influence people.
  • Workflow management experience using relevant tools and techniques.

It would be highly advantageous if you have a professional qualification in UX design, product design, human-computer interaction or similar. Experience facilitating workshops, shaping and influencing business strategies would also be beneficial. 

As this is a Hybrid role, it’s important that you live within a commutable distance to our office in Huddersfield (HD2).
