Plasnewydd Caravan is situated in lovely countryside which is ideal for walking, cycling and birdwatching and an ideal base for exploring the local surroundings. This is a little haven for wildlife and birdwatching. Frequent visitors to the garden include robins, blackbirds, blue tits, great tits, willow tits, sparrows, finches, nuthatches, starlings, woodpeckers, jays, crows and bats. You will most likely see kites flying overhead, hear the owls, a pheasant and also a cuckoo. There is no light pollution so the nights are very dark. This is ideal for star gazers as you can make out the milky way on a clear dark night.
Tregaron is a lovely small town with local shops, pubs/restaurants, takeaways, an Art and Gift Centre and Tregaron Kite Centre. There is also a monthly market in the Town Hall. Cors Caron National Nature Reserve is not far and also the Strata Florida Abbey.
Twenty minutes drive in the opposite direction, is the lovely village of Lampeter which has a Co-op, Sainsbury’s, coffee shops, pubs, cafes and general stores.
The little fishing town of Aberaeron is 17.4 miles (30 mins by car). The nearest beach is Llanon which is only 12.8 miles away (30 mins by car). Aberystwyth is 18.9 miles (40 mins by car) and Newquay is 22.2 miles (45 mins by car). There are amazing beaches to explore along the coastal path including Borth Beach which has the remains of a submerged forest at low tide.
Although we are situated on a main road there is definitely not the amount of traffic that you will find in built up areas. It is quiet here with only 2 retired neighbours who are a field away from us. Across the road are fields with sheep and you may see our retired neighbour training his sheepdog most days. Plasnewydd caravan is a lovely getaway to relax and unwind. We don't accept dogs or small animals due to people with allergies who may stop with us, but we do have a family rescue dog who has access to his own enclosed garden area.
Our prices start from £35 per night low season and £45 per night high season. There is a minimum of 3 nights stay.
