Its seaside location makes it perfect for a quiet coastal walk, and if you want to bring along your four-legged friends, feel free, there are plenty of places to exercise and take in the panoramic scenery of the Irish Sea.
If you like to be beside the seaside, the popular town of Morecambe is just a few miles away with its famous promenade, shops, bars, restaurants and amusement arcades. It has a fantastic sandy beach, one of the best in the area, and the smell of fish and chips wafts from the nearby sellers. If you prefer a more cosmopolitan experience then the city of Lancaster is just 5 miles away with a fantastic shopping centre containing all the usual brands and designer stores.To the north you can reach Kendal, ’the gateway to the Lakes’ in around a 25-minute drive, from there you are in the heart of the South Lakes and the Lake District National Park.
