This caravan is an absolute gem! We had such a lovely time and will be returning.
The Caravan
We arrived on a Monday, and instantly felt at home! We checked in very easily, and the caravan was spotless and smelt beautiful. There were plenty of cleaning products and lots of useful extras such as: tea, coffee, squash, salt & paper, tomato sauce and the all important toilet roll, plenty of kitchen utensils, full size fridge, tissues, anti-bac hand gel and hand wash at all three sinks, toys for kids. This caravan is very spacious, there were only three of us (2 adults and an 11 year old) but with three bedrooms and a roomy kitchen/diner and lounge; it would be ideal for larger families. The double bed was super comfy! Plenty of bedroom storage. Loved the double doors from the living room leading you to the decking, it made the space very light and airy, and was especially useful as a secure area for our dog. There is also a skylight in the kitchen/diner which also makes the space feel larger and brighter. I must mentioned the shower, because as a family who have stayed in a lot of caravans, this is my usual bug bear...not being able to have a decent shower! But this one is AMAZING - full size, good water pressure, hot water, easy to use and spotless.
The Site
The caravan is sited on a very quiet part of the site in a cul-de-sac, and is just a short walk to the fishing pond and park, the beach and the clubhouse. I won't dwell too much on the beach access as this did not effect our holiday at all, we found a way down to the beach and enjoyed lots of long walks with our dog, and my son enjoyed searching for fossils. Can't comment on the clubhouse/entertainment as we did not use them, but they seemed popular. Visited reception for a site map (although we realised afterwards that the owner had provided one!) and the staff were very friendly and helpful. The shop had plenty in, and the arcade was good. The site was just right for us, as it had a nice, peaceful and friendly feel, it was quiet and not too big/overcrowded.
Local Area
I would recommend visiting Hornsea which is a 10/15 min drive, it is very beautiful with lots of lovely cafes and restaurants, but not too big and touristy! Bridlington is another good beach for dogs and shopping, and only a short drive away. We visited Whitby and Scarborough which were much more touristy and therefore very busy, but worth a visit. I believe there are lots of dog friendly beaches around the local area.
The Owner
Nothing is too much trouble for this lovely lady! Super helpful and very responsive from the point of booking and throughout our stay. There are a lot of little nice touches to this caravan that we really appreciated, and therefore you can tell it is well loved and looked after by it's owner.
In summary - we can't recommend this caravan enough, the best caravan we have ever stayed in :-)
