Tern 5 is a privately owned static caravan on the prestigious Pinewoods holiday park. It is positioned in a quiet spot, just a 3 minute walk from the pine woods, beach and colourful quirky beach huts. The south west facing decking is a great place to sit out and enjoy a BBQ with a glass of wine after spending the day on one of the beautiful beaches of North Norfolk or walking in this area of outstanding natural beauty. The caravan is also a wonderful cosy retreat in the colder months, with central heating and a feature electric fire. We are happy to accept short breaks over the quieter months.
The caravan sleeps 4 in 2 bedrooms, plus there is a sofa bed in the living area for 2 more guests. (Please bear in mind that the dining table only seats 4). Our caravan is best suited to 4 guests as we think the best way to achieve a relaxing holiday is to have the space to enjoy each others company; however the choice is yours. Bed linen can be provided at an extra cost for the bedrooms only, (to sleep 4).
The bustling centre of Wells-next-the-Sea is only a 15 minute walk, or a short train ride away on the miniature railway which runs from the site during peak season. The town’s Staithe Street is home to several traditional and contemporary shops, places to eat, galleries and the newly renovated Maltings; here you will find interest in the history of Wells, exhibitions, a bar and café. The Maltings also shows films throughout the year to delight the locals and visitors alike.
The quay is a wonderful place to watch people and boats, come and go. Still a working fishing port, you can take a trip out to sea to try your luck at catching some supper. If you prefer to stay closer to the shore, you can enjoy a boat trip round the harbour or catch crabs from the quay, known locally as ‘gillying’. Wells Sailing Club provides entertainment during the summer, racing beautiful old wooden sailing boats out on the water at weekends during the high tide. If you feel peckish whilst taking in the local action, you can tuck into fish and chips on the quay wall and enjoy the wonderful views out to sea, but keep an eye on the sea gulls!
Wells-next-the-Sea is set in North Norfolk’s Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and is part of the largest coastal nature reserve in England and Wales. As such it is a perfect location for bird watchers where the wide expanse of marshes provides the perfect habitat for wading birds and winter geese.
If your holiday is during Wells carnival week, you will be treated to a wonderful variety of family events including live music on the Butlands, a large procession of floats through the town, food and craft stalls and children’s competitions which include a duck race, sandcastle building and gillying.
PAYMENT CAN BE MADE ONLINE OR OVER THE TELEPHONE USING A CREDIT CARD; OR ALTERNATIVELY BY BANK TRANSFER. (There is no extra charge for making the payment online or over the phone to the owner, or by bank transfer).
