THINGS TO DO
St. Andrews is an ideal holiday location for a short break or your main holiday. There are loads of things to do and see around St Andrews and the East Neuk of Fife. From the university which was built in 1413 and is the oldest university town in Scotland (and where Prince William met Kate!) to St Andrews Links and historic Old Course - the home of golf, where golf has been played for over 600 years. The town centre is only a 15-minute walk and there is a wide variety of shops, cafes, pubs & restaurants to visit as you stroll through the cobbled streets and alleyways. There are many attractions to keep you busy. Visit the aquarium or West Sands made famous by the film Chariots of Fire or explore the ruins of the cathedral.
The East Neuk is probably the most scenic part of Fife and an opportunity to experience the unique bygone atmosphere of its' many fishing villages such as Crail, Anstruther & Pittenweem which are easily accessible by car. It is also the central point of the popular 'Fife Coastal Path' that stretches between the Forth Road and Tay Road Bridges.
For the golfers there is the obvious attraction of the 7 courses of St Andrews Links including the iconic Old Course host to The Open every 5 year but there are also many other fantastic courses in the East Neuk including Kingsbarns, Crail, Elie & Lundin Links.
