About the owner

I am Carolyn McDonald and along with my husband, Mark and faithful hound Max, we have been letting our caravans and lodges (sited at White Acres and Trevella Holiday Parks, near to Newquay, Cornwall) since late 2018. Our aim is to provide holidays of the highest quality: hotel quality linens, amazing views / park locations, all mod cons and consistently high levels of cleanliness etc. I think we are getting it right as over 70% of our bookings are now repeat customers. We spend as much time as possible in Cornwall. When not in Cornwall we run a successful building company. I have been coming to Cornwall for the last 49 years and have a wealth of knowledge on great places to see and things to do. Am happy to help any first timers to plan their visit so they can get the most out of it. We look forward to welcoming you to Cornwall very soon.

We have just purchased this caravan and it will be available from March 2022 to rent. I have provided photos, but we have not yet had the TV and new kitchen small appliances delivered. The photos will be updated shortly.

COVID-19 Booking Guarantee
Should the holiday park be closed due to Covid 19 and we are unable to provide your holiday we guarantee to return any payment made to us at that point or if you prefer, to move your booking to an alternative date (subject to availability). If the new date is cheaper we will reduce / refund the difference and if it is more expensive this cost will be passed onto yourselves. Should you be unable to travel due to illness caused by Covid 19 and have to cancel your holiday we will do our best to re-book your holiday. If successful in re-booking we will offer you the chance to move your booking to an alternative period. We suggest that you take out travel insurance that will cover you for any cancellation. If you cancel within 6 weeks and we are unable to re-book the week of your holiday there would be no refund.

The Property
Our caravan is in Sycamore Forest close to Jenny's Lake, The Tackle Shop and First Bite Cafe on the White Acres Holiday Park. The park is set in 184 acres of stunning Cornish countryside with numerous nature trails around the site.

The caravan is sited close to Jenny’s lake, perfect for those interested in fishing, walking, exploring the local area and relaxing.

You enter into the hallway where there is plenty of space for shoes and coats. To your left is the doorway through to a spacious dining/kitchen area, and through to a separate lounge area with large L shaped sofa and armchair. You can open the patio doors onto the decking and soak up the beauty and tranquillity of the park. If the weather isn’t that great you can enjoy the TV and a small selection of DVD’s or pair your phone / ipod with the Bluetooth music system and chill out.

The kitchen houses a range of appliances (gas hob & oven, microwave, fridge freezer, toaster, kettle and dishwasher). Down the hall are two bedrooms, a king-size & twin (both with upgraded pocket sprung mattresses), both rooms offer plenty of wardrobe and storage space. The master bedroom benefits from a lovely en-suite shower room. There is a 2nd shower room situated off of the hallway.
There are USB charging sockets in the lounge and bedrooms.

The decking area wraps around the caravan, with table and chairs for outside dining. The perfect place to enjoy breakfast and make plans for your day out exploring the area or to watch the sunset with a chilled glass of wine after a days fishing / sunbathing / surfing. The decking is has a gated entrance so ideal for leaving your dog outside without any worries.

On-site facilities include indoor heated swimming pool, jacuzzi, sauna and gym, ten pin bowling, arcade area, pool tables, indoor soft play area and a kids adventure playground. A leisure pass is required to access the pool area & gym. It is also required to access the restaurant, bar and evening entertainment after 5.30pm. These can be purchased from reception if required.

There is free WIFI in the restaurant, bar, entertainment venue and First Bite Café. WIFI is available for a small fee within the caravan (arranged via Parkdean). However, Vodafone coverage is excellent with 4G available within the caravan (use your phone as a mobile hotspot).

There are 13 course fishing lakes within the park. Described as one of the premier fishing locations in the UK. The team at the Tackle Shop (which is 2 mins walk from the Lodge) will be more than happy to help you out. Passes are required to fish on the lakes – day or weekly passes are available to purchase from the Tackle Shop. A rod licence is also required – free for under 16’s. These can be purchased online if you don’t already have one. There is a wooden fishing box and metal lock box available to store any fishing equipment / bait. Ask for the padlock combination. Please don’t store bait in the caravan.

You are ideally place for exploring the expansive coastline boasting areas such as the St. Agnes Heritage Coast, Godrevy Coast and The Roseland Heritage Coast.

The spectacular attractions of the Eden Project, Blue Reef Aquarium, Healey's Cornish Cyder Farm (dogs allowed!) and the dog friendly beaches of Newquay, Perranporth, Crantock and Watergate are all within easy reach.

We offer the perfect base for anyone looking to explore all that this beautiful region has to offer.

Park Rules
No all-male or female groups will be accepted on site at White Acres. At least 50% of the party must be older than 25. Only guests listed on the booking form may stay in the caravan. You will need to supply the names and ages of everyone who will be staying in the caravan at the point of booking. Smoking and vaping are not allowed within any of the park buildings or our caravan. Please note that fishermen can’t take part in the fishing festivals if they are staying in a privately rented property.
You must not leave your dog unattended in the caravan at anytime

St Columb Major 2.5 miles; Newquay 6.5 miles; Perranporth 13.8 miles. White Cross is a small hamlet in Cornwall, situated a few miles away from the thriving seaside town of Newquay. The closest pubs and restaurants are at Quintrell Downs & St Columb Major – where you will also find a Co-op store for your amenities, whilst the neighbouring town of Newquay offers a more diverse choice of shops, supermarkets, pubs and restaurants.

A great base for exploring all Cornwall has to offer.

First time in this caravan as a regular to White Acres for many years. Best one yet. Great location and very peaceful spot. The owner is extremely friendly, welcoming and helpful. Spotlessly clean and fresh. Very spacious and a home from home. No negatives at all I can think of, except a week flies by too fast! So good we booked for next year as we left!

Thank you so much for booking with us again. Glad that had a great holiday. See you all next July!!!

We have just spent 2 weeks here and our 3rd time at White acres, I must say this is the cleanest caravan we have stayed in, we took 2 miniature Yorkshire terriers with us who loved the walks around Jennys lake at dusk. The position of the caravan is perfect for most of the lakes being a short walk to most of them. The master bedroom is a good size bigger than most I have stayed in and the ensuite is a good size too. The kitchen is well equipped with enough pots and pans to cook a large meal. The bedding and towel change after the first week was a bonus. We will be looking to book this caravan again for next year.

Stayed with my 5month old husky, the accommodation was like home from home, with everything you needed. Although I took covers for the chairs, when we got there, there was already covers of the sofas, which was a nice touch. The accommodation was in a nice and quiet area, and would definitely go back and take my husband.
