Description

Sit back and unwind in the superb tranquil setting of Blue Anchor seafront.

Please note that shorter breaks are available - a minimum of 3 nights -please contact us for prices and availability.

This is our caravan we use ourselves, so you can expect to find everything you need within a homely setting. The only thing we ask you to provide will be the bed linen - sheets, duvet covers, pillow cases for all of the beds that you intend to use - plus bath and tea towels.
All quilts and pillows are provided. If you wish to use the travel cot please note that you will also require all bedding for this.
We have done our utmost to ensure that everything else has been catered for to make your stay relaxing.
The caravan site is ideal for couples and young families - please note that there is no entertainment or clubhouse on site.

The caravan has an open lounge/kitchen diner and is double glazed with gas central heating.
The lounge has a Freeview tv, DVD player plus board games, books and a selection of DVDs.
The kitchen comes fully equipped and has an integrated fridge/freezer, built in microwave, and gas cooker/hob.
The caravan has 2 bedrooms - the master has a king-size bed, generous wardrobe space, dressing table and a en-suite toilet. The second bedroom has 2 single beds and a wardrobe.
The main bathroom has a walk-in shower, WC and basin.

The caravan benefits from wrap around decking offering SOUTH facing views overlooking the countryside, enjoying sunshine all day long with the steam train passing through (daytime only). The decking has a secure gate which is brilliant for the safety of young children and dogs. Brand new patio furniture/parasol are to be found on the decking. Buckets and spades are also provided for our younger guests.

On the Hoburne site you will find an indoor heated pool, sauna, steam room, plus a small fitness suite - these can all be accessed for a small charge via reception (outside of the school holidays). Free Wi-Fi access is on site. Other amenities onsite include a laundrette, small shop/café, crazy golf and 2 children's play areas. The beach is adjacent to the caravan site - with dogs allowed on all year round - and has views across to South Wales. There are many local walks suitable for dogs from the site - and when you return there is a warm shower hose outside reception that can be used to wash down your dog if needed.

Within walking distance of the caravan site is the steam railway station (advanced booking recommended), the popular Driftwood café serving breakfasts, homemade cakes and lunches, the Smugglers Inn is to be recommended for its Sunday Carvery, it also has a large beer garden. A 5 minute drive will take you to Watchet, Dunster and Minehead. Watchet is a fishing village with a marina and there are bars, restaurants and various shops to be found. Dunster is a medieval village with a NT castle and grounds that just has to be visited. The Luttrell Arms serves excellent food and I recommend their secret garden to sit back and enjoy the views alongside your lunch. Minehead is the main town in the area and is home to a number of bars/restaurants, cafes, takeaways, etc. You will also find Tescos, Morrisons, Lidl all located next to each other in Minehead.

From the caravan you can walk to Dunster village, castle and the lovely sandy beach. There is a large car park at Dunster beach with food and drink available plus a toilet block. Moving on from Minehead you will come to Porlock, Lynton and Lynmouth which are all very much worth a visit. Exmoor itself is a short drive away with numerous walks - maps of the Exmoor and other local areas are available in the caravan for your use.

A well behaved dog is welcome but we ask that the covers are left on the sofas to protect them and ask kindly that dogs are kept off the beds at all times. We understand dogs get muddy and we have provided a basket of towels to help keep them clean. Hoburne site rules insist that dogs are kept on leads at all times whilst on the site.

If you are bringing your dog please note that our caravan includes dog bed (blanket required), dog bowls, drying towels and sofa covers. We find the warm dog shower outside the reception is so handy after a walk along the beach!

We booked a 3 day break at this caravan and have had a wonderful time. The caravan itself was spotless and had everything we needed, for ourselves and our dogs, Maggie and Peter have been very accommodating and have thought about everything. Booking was so easy and communication has been fabulous throughout. The surrounding area was very peaceful and quiet with a little stream just to the left of the caravan that our dogs have loved being able to dip in and out of. It was nice to read so many lovely entries from other visitors in Maggie and Peters visitors book which also gave us ideas or where to go and explore. Everyone around the site were very friendly and approachable. We're now sadly heading home after a really relaxing few days. We would highly recommend to people of all ages and we hope to visit again in the near future ourselves.

We are so glad that you had a wonderful stay and that you found the site to be as friendly as we do. Alfie, our Springer spaniel, loves the walk along the stream up to Old Cleeve and its churchyard. We try to add our own recommendations to the visitors book - and we have also visited places recommended by our visitors. You will of course be most be most welcome to return to our caravan. Maggie & Peter.

We had a brilliant stay at the caravan. It had everything you could ask for and was spotlessly clean. Great sunny location, with the veranda to watch the steam train passing. We loved it and definitely be booking again. Thank you both for a lovely break.

Thank you for your kind comments and are glad that you had a brilliant stay. We too enjoy sitting back on the decking and watching the engines steam past. We both look forward to welcoming you back soon!! Maggie & Peter.

Group Of Friends

Date of stay - 7 Jul 2022 - 10 Jul 2022

A single woman, a couple and their daughter I have stayed with my friends and their 4 year old daughter. We went for a long weekend , which was lovely but to be honest was too short!!! I wish we could have stayed longer!!! We enjoyed the lovely place, the caravan was great, had everything you needed, good facilities and very comfortable, feels like home. The location is good, close to beaches and lovely places to visit. Also, I am a runner. I loved running to Minehead on Saturday morning and doing the Parkrun on Saturday morning at 9 am. I highly recommend for anyone, if you like to relax, or enjoying running/walking like me, please don’t hesitate to book and explore the surrounding. I only went last week but I could book my next stay with Maggie and Peter very soon. Thank you to you both, you have a fantastic home by the sea ???? Daniela, Worcestershire

Hi Daniela, Thank you very much for your lovely review. The whole area is inundated with lovely walks and we have learnt something new regarding the Parkrun on the seafront at Minehead and Maggie intends to join in on our next visit. We look forward to welcoming you back to our caravan very soon. Maggie & Peter.

We stayed here for a week and we loved it! The caravan was beautiful and so comfortable. It was definitely the most comfortable bed we’ve ever had in a caravan! We had everything we needed and loved the little extras. Our dog, Poppy loved it too (especially the beach) and we felt that she was very welcome at the caravan and everywhere that we visited. We were lucky with the weather and it was lovely sitting on the decking, with the lovely view and it was fantastic when the steam train went by. We hadn’t been to the area before but the owners very kindly offered to suggest some nice walks in the area and we found the suggestions in the visitor book, very helpful. Beautiful, peaceful location. Would definitely recommend a stay here and we would love to go back ourselves ??????????????.

We are so pleased that you had a lvely time - and that you left our caravan so clean and tidy. The area and people are so nice and there are so many places to explore - we find somewhere different everytime we come down. We look forward to you revisiting in the future.

We were looking for a few days to unwind where we didn't have to think about anything and Maggie's Caravan was the perfect place. It was newly fufnished and was full of homely additions and very well equipped. We were especially glad of the range of local guide books and maps which enabled us to explore the Quantock Hills. The caravan was spotlessly clean and there were plenty of cleaning supplies and a good vacuum so we could do our bit before leaving. The patio had an uninterrupted view of fields, hills and the passing steam train, and had the sun all day which was a great bonus. Maggie was easy to contact and provided clear instructions on how to access the key and other useful local info. Our stay was brief and we wouldn't hesitate to stay longer and next time bring friends along.

We are so glad that you had a chance to unwind and that the weather was kind to you. I must admit that we love relaxing on the decking whenever the opportunity arises.

We stayed here for a few nights and the caravan is very clean, well maintained and homely. The master bedroom is quite big, it has a kingsize comfy bed in it and still has space, so we didn't feel enclosed in as we have in other caravans with the same sort of layout, There was added extras as detailed in caravan description on website, even down to kitchen and toilet roll., which doesn't really have to be given , so is a kind and thoughtful gesture. The caravan is at the bottom of the park by a stream and is so peaceful. It felt so relaxing having a cuppa on the decking. It is just a few minutes walk out of the caravan park onto the sea front and there is a cafe, where we enjoyed a lovely breakfast. We enjoyed some lovely walks and we caught the steam train into Minehead, the station is a five minute walk from park. It cost ten pounds each return, so not badly priced. We thoroughy enjoyed our 3 night stay and we would highly recommend staying here. We are hoping to book again in August for a longer stay this time. Thank you both, for letting us stay in your lovely caravan.

Thank you very much for your kind review. We love it here so much and are pleased thatyou enjoyed it too. We would also like to thank you for leaving the caravan so clean and tidy after your stay. Maggie & Peter.

This is a fantastic Caravan. Very well equipped, warm and a great location. The site was peaceful with the Steam railway running past every day so really nice to see. There is no bar on site but the pub is only a 5-10 minute walk with another a few minutes on. There is a cafe onsite and another just next door. The beach across the road is great for dogs. The caravan has everything we needed to make the stay enjoyable. The decking around it was gated so we could let the dog roam around while we sat on the decking having a drink. The caravan location is tucked away in the corner of the site with a pretty stream running just one caravan over. If you walk past the pub there is a footpath that takes you along the other side of the stream and through some fields which is also a nice walk. We would recommend the Caravan to anybody who wants a nice quality caravan on a peaceful site. Maggie was great to communicate with and you will have no issues with the accommodation.

Thank you so much for your lovely comments they are much appreciated. We love it there and glad you did too. It is our Happy Place, a real home from home. Thank you for leaving it so immaculate too! Maggie and Pete.
