Travelled with our 2 young children. Arrived at site, took 30 minutes to find caravan as not sign posted well in the dark. You have to access caravan from another car park. No parking all weekend so had to park on grass. Eventually got to the caravan to find a huge stain on the seating area and dirty carpet. Owner said cleaner didn’t have right equipment to clean these. Toilet seat loose and curtains were hanging off in bedroom. Cobwebs were found in the kitchen area with glasses and plates. Contacted owner immediately who was generally helpful, offered to clean sofa and dirty carpet but we didn’t want our holiday interrupted. We were offered complimentary free passes as compensation. No wifi in the caravan. Couldn’t get the electric fire to work as no batteries in remote eventually got it working not ideal when it is cold and no central heating. Single beds comfortable but double bed leaves a lot to be desired. Located directly opposite train track which was loud and disturbing at night would have been nice to be made aware of this prior to arrival. No hot running water all weekend only lukewarm which made showering and washing up difficult, owner said maintenance would come but never did. Slight positives would be caravan is well equipped and homely. Upon contacting the owner after our visit I was appalled as he was very rude in the reply and I was told cobwebs are to be expected in spider mating season! And blamed me for a £75 call out fee as he said hot water was running fine! Genuinely was the worst experience I have had staying in a caravan. Really disappointed that these issues affected our holiday. I’m sorry but £95 per night for this is ludicrous!
Thanks for the review, let me reply.... how is possibly our fault if it took you 30 minutes to find our caravan, NO ONE else has had a problem finding it. There are 2 carparks within seconds of our caravan and its not our fault you had to park on grass for your whole stay, again, no one else has complained about this. I offered to come and clean the stains left by the previous guests, you declined. The toilet seat is unfortunate but it has now been fixed and I've spoken to my cleaner and she said the curtains were fine, they were when we went to fix all issues you brought up too do I'm confused about that one. WiFi isn't offered and it does state this. Passes were given to you but after you said everything was "basic" in the caravan I wish we hadn't now, funny you say that it's well equipped and homely now though in your review. You're by the sea, trains run near by, not sure what I'm supposed to do about that. The water WAS perfectly fine according to my cleaner and by the maintenance team AND after we went there to check everything. I was never rude to you, NEVER, I was trying my best to make your stay a good one, hence the passes we gave you as an apology. We are genuinely gutted you resorted to this unfair review considering we did everything we could, I have all the messages. Also you paid £85 per night to stay in out brand new caravan which isn't even a year old. And as for our double bed, are you actually being serious?! The only feedback we have had about that bed is that's it's really comfortable so I'm baffled at that one. We hope you have many enjoyable stays staying in caravans in the future, but it certainly won't be in ours. Please do remember we actively tried to fix the problems you've addressed here but you declined. Take care
