Doldowlod Old Station Caravan Park is set in a small, charming park across a meadow from the River Wye, surrounded by the Cambrian Mountains. This is a perfect base for anyone seeking the peace and quiet of the countryside.
We are well placed for many attractions and with a local store, petrol station and cafe just 500 yards away, so you can have convenience as well as the beauty of the countryside. We know that your time is precious so we will do everything we can to make your holiday or short break special. Our caravan is spotlessly presented. We also have a three bedroom static for hire so please ask about availability if this would suit you better.
We have a 50% returning guest rate, no-one has yet left a UK caravans review but we have 5 star review ratings on Google, Cool Camping and Airbnb. Please leave us a review if you have stayed with us in the past.
Based just 200 yards from the river Wye with uninterrupted views of the Cambrian mountains, Doldowlod's Old Railway Caravan Park is just 3 miles from the quaint market town of Rhayader and 4 miles from the Elan Valley Visitor Centre whilst the Victorian Spa town of Llandrindod Wells is 6 miles by road. We are just 12 minutes from Builth Wells, home to the Royal Welsh showground and 40 minutes from the west Wales coast. We are at the gateway to Wale's lake-land, the Elan Valley.
Our lovely Cosalt Rimini static has an open plan cosy lounge and dining room with a separate kitchen. There is a flat screen free view TV and a DVD player. There is a hallway off which are the two bedrooms and the shower-room/WC. There are luxury fittings and fixtures throughout affording a light, airy feel. There is one large master double bedroom and one twin with two single beds and there is also a comfortable fold-away futon with memory foam topper. Bedding, linen and towels and tea towels are provided at £10.00 per room (or if you prefer you can bring your own bedding). Gas and electricity are included in the price. Our caravan is priced for 2 people with a £2 per night per person fee for additional guests.
The Kitchen has a 4 ring gas hob and full size oven and grill. There is a fridge freezer, microwave, kettle, toaster, crockery, cutlery, pots and pans. There is a dining table with wrap around seating.
Outside there is a sitting area with table and chairs and parking for your car.
Doldowlod and the surrounding area is Ideal for Wildlife enthusiasts and birdwatchers at any time of year, the Red Kite feeding station takes less than 5 minutes to reach by road whilst our on site feeders and hedgerows are frequently visited by nuthatch, tree creepers, siskins, tits, dunnocks and woodpeckers.
On the river we regularly see otter, kingfishers, heron, dippers and gooseanders. Late spring brings cuckoos and it may be possible to see an elusive Ospray. Bring your binoculars.
This is also a ramblers' paradise with hill walks and river walks right on the doorstep. We provide maps, walking guides and led walks for a range of fitness levels and abilities. With mountain bikes for hire in near-by Rhayader why not take to the hills and enjoy breathtaking scenery?!
TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF BOOKING
Bedding packs can be hired at £10 per room or you are welcome to bring your own bedding. If You choose to bring your own bedding, please bring everything you need including duvets and pillows.
To reserve your holiday we require a 50% deposit with the balance is payable on arrival or you can book online via our website and pay in full by card.
Check in time time is from 3pm until 7pm or by arrangement after 7pm. ( except in exceptional circumstances our latest check in 9pm)
We require a £50 returnable cash security bond on arrival which is repaid when you hand back your keys on departure (provided the caravan is left in an acceptable condition).
We welcome well behaved dogs to our holiday hire caravans and vintage Railway Carriages.
For everyone's enjoyment we ask you to observe the following:
1.Dogs must be a lead at all times whilst on the park and exercised in the dog walk area or off the park.
2.We ask you to clean up after your pet immediately (even in the dog walk area).
3. Please do not leave your dog alone in your car or accommodation.
4. Please do not leave your dog tied up outside your car or accommodation.
5. Please tell us when you book if you are bringing pets. We need to know how many dogs you would like to bring. We are generally happy with one or two small dogs or one medium/large dog per caravan. We may be flexible on this but we need you to talk to us before booking. There is a £15 per dog additional charge if you are bringing your pet.
6. Please bring a towel to dry your pet and a blanket or basket for them. Do not allow your pet onto the beds or furniture.
