How first Impressions can be so wrong On first impressions the caravan was just what we had hoped for, large and spacious nicely decorated with Christmas tree, etc… Upon arrival it was very cold. After inspecting the boiler the pressure was on zero so had to top up ( had to top up 3 times during stay). After unpacking and settling down for the evening, went to shower and there was no hot water as the gas had run out this meant we had no heating, couldn’t cook food or even wash hands safely after using the bathroom. We reported the issue to the owner who said she would call maintenance. 30 minutes later they arrived checked the bottles and simply drove off still leaving us with no gas. At this point we were offered alternative caravan just for the evening (9pm) until the gas was resolved first thing in the morning. We declined the offer after weighing up the disruption of moving the family and dog as we did have the electric fire in the living room and was told would be resolved first thing. Then in the morning, this is when the mixed messages started from the owner. First we were told an engineer was coming out to unit to check the boiler, then told waiting on delivery of gas then told there was a national shortage of gas .Then that a gas engineer needs to inspect as the site seem to think there is an underlying issue as this is the reason the gas had gone. The only issue here was that this unit never had gas. No engineer visited and the gas bottles finally arrived at 15:30, 24 hours after our arrival time. Other points to mention after spending 3 nights we came to realise that it’s not the cleanest caravan. All soft furnishings, bedding and towels stunk of cigarette smoke. No mattress or pillow protectors. Rusty water leaking down radiators in bathrooms. Would I recommend, absolutely not.
