About the owner

We are Pamela and David from Hertfordshire. Our daughter, her husband and their children moved to Somerset a few years ago and we saw an opportunity to be able to spend more time with them if we also had a base in the area. We set about researching thoroughly and finally decided that Hoburne Blue Anchor Bay would fit the bill perfectly. We purchased our caravan in the lock-down of 2020 and it has proved to be the best decision we ever made. The rest and relaxation it offers to us away from our busy working lives is priceless. We walk our dogs for miles on the beach and return to sit out on our decking, perhaps having a glass of wine or a cup of tea as we watch the steam train passing and listen to the many different species of birds that inhabit our area within the park. Later, when the sun goes down and if the sky is clear, we can see thousands of stars for miles and miles across the sky thanks to the lack of light pollution in Blue Anchor Bay. On the occasions we bring our grandchildren, rest and relaxation is rare but we do have the most fun and this quality time spent with them is beyond precious. Our older grandchildren are allowed to explore the park and the little stream that runs through the site and down to the sea. The younger ones stay back with us and we play a variety of board/card games or watch DVD's that we keep in the caravan for everyone to use. The Hoburne site is perfect for us with it's laid back, peaceful vibe but the busy and bustling town of Minehead is just minutes away. If we want to explore further afield, there are so many places of interest - always somewhere new to see and we never get bored. It is our little piece of heaven on earth and this is what we want our guests to feel also. We take our responsibility as caravan owners very seriously and are always contactable should any issues arise. We will do our utmost to ensure your comfort in our caravan so that you will want to return again and again - just like we do !.

Description

Description

The caravan is situated in a pretty area on a well maintained park, just across the road from the dog friendly beach where you can walk for miles when the tide is out. The charming historic village of Dunster and the castle is to the left and to the right, the picturesque harbour of Watchet. Just a short way from the site there are stunning walks along the coastal path and towards the Quantock Hills. A few minutes from the site is The West Somerset Steam Railway station - climb aboard for a holiday adventure!

The caravan itself has a master bedroom with a king sized bed and a smaller bedroom with 2 x singles. There is a pull out double bed in the lounge if required. The kitchen is fully equipped with everything you would need.(cooker, fridge/freezer, microwave, toaster). The lounge has a t.v, dvd player and dining table. There is a stock of dvd's and various board games for everyone to enjoy. Free wifi on site which is generally very reliable in our area of the park.

The traditional seaside town of Minehead is a short drive away. Here you can get a day pass into Butlins, enjoy a deckchair on the beach, savour a cream tea at the cafe on the promenade as you watch the children trying their hand at Crazy Golf. Why not sample one of the many flavours of ice cream - but watch out for the sea gulls ! Who doesn't love a session in the arcades where a £1 pot of two penny pieces can last for hours !! For those yearning for something a little more relaxing, the wild and mysterious Exmoor National Park is a few minutes drive from Minehead but feels like another world with the breathtaking sights to take in, the moor ponies one moment, a chocolate box village the next . Watching the sun set from Bossington Hill is an experience you will never forget.
