Waterside Leisure Park is a lovely site suitable for both families and couples.
Waterside Leisure Park has an unique location on the outskirts of Ingoldmells and has something to offer everyone, from the busy attractions, markets, shops and local bars of Ingoldmells to the more leisurely village life of Chapel St Leonards: all are within a short pleasant walk along the promenade overlooking the beautiful sandy beach which has a lovely slow gradient leading into the sea.
Amenities: Fishing Lake: Waterside features one of the best fishing lakes in the area. Set in a beautiful location which has recently been re-landscaped with beautiful areas, plants shrubbery and features at the end of the 2009 season. The lake covers an area of approximately two acres. Fishing charges are: £5.00 per day or £16.00 per week (with concessions for children), passes can be obtained from the site office but you must have your own fishing licence which can be obtained from any post office.
The lake is open daily from dawn to dusk throughout the season. During the season the lake hosts regular angling competitions each Saturday.
For those keen fishers Waterside also has direct access to Lakeside Leisure which has smaller fishing lakes - The lakes hold a total of 24 species of fish between them with the majority of the species being found in the Boating Lake. The Boating lake also contains specimen Carp to 34.5 lbs and Catfish to 54 lbs. The species are as follows: Bream, Barbel, Carp (Mirror, Common, Crucian, Koi, Ghost and Grass), Catfish, Chub. Dace, Eels. Goldfish, Golden Orfe, Golden Rudd, Golden Tench, Gudgeon, Perch, Roach, Rudd, Ruffe, Stickelbacks, Tench and Trout.
Waterside Caravan Site has direct access to Lakeside Leisure where there is a boating lake where motor/rowing/peddle boats can be hired. Over-looking the lake is a cafe with lovely pet corner and fishing tackle shop with amusements for all the family and one of those lovely tall "bumpy" slides where the kids can have hours of fun whilst you sit and watch enjoying the scenery with a nice cuppa and cake or pint or glass of wine maybe?
The Site Office is situated at the park entrance and is open daily from 08:30 to 17:00 throughout the season to handle any enquiries that you may have. Tracey who works on the reception is lovely and has a "nothing is too much trouble and if it can be done it will be!" approach to everything and you can be sure of a very warm welcome! The other staff in the office and around on site are also very friendly and approachable so if you have a problem don't hesitate to go and chat to them - they love a cuppa too! ;)
Waterside Leisure Park is an ideal location which has direct access to the lovely unspoilt beach at Ingoldmells. Featuring miles of unbroken sand with a gentle gradient to the sea. The beach is one of the most picturesque and safest in the country.
At the entrance of the park is a small Cafe/Bar which that has regular entertainment and auctions and scrumptious meals and snacks to suit most tastes.
Hardy's Animal Farm is within easy walking distance of Waterside Leisure Park. It is an ideal family attraction where the children can feed the animals and also find out what life on a working farm is like.
Fantasy Island (15 min walk from site) is Britain's first themed indoor family resort and amusement park. It is located in Ingoldmells near Skegness on the East Coast of England. A magical world of fun, thrills and experiences for all the family!
Situated within the Fantasy Island complex, Eastgate market is the largest 7 day market in Europe. The many different stalls offer a variety of items at bargain prices, making this an ideal place to browse and do your shopping.
Skegness Stadium (5 minute car ride - bus service available in the Summer): is a tarmac short circuit oval racing track on the outskirts of Skegness, 2 miles inland from Ingoldmells. Racing is held some weekends from March to early November. Thursdays from early June until early November. Tuesdays from mid-July until end August, Bank Holiday Sundays & Mondays.
There is a range of oval racing, from metal mashing of the Bangers, to the sophisticated racing machines of the powerful full on contact of Brisca F1 Stock Cars and the high speed non-contact pure race machines of the National Hot Rods. There is a full range of facilities for all the family, two bars, several fast food outlets, and well stocked track shops.
A day out at Butlins nearby also offers tremendous value for money with a family day ticket giving access to all of the facilities, including the indoor pool complex, funfair, rides and entertainment.
Skegness is the biggest resort on the Fun Coast and has been a premier family holiday destination for many years. Relax on the European award winning beach stretching into the distance.
There is so much to do that it's difficult to know where to start. The seal sanctuary and animal centre, museums, kids' adventure centres, crazy golf, ten-pin bowling, laser quest, fun fairs, and shopping, not to mention the beautifully landscaped foreshore, Compass Gardens and the colourful Tower Gardens.
The Illuminations begin in July on-going well into November, and light up the whole of the resort. There are clubs, pubs, and restaurants, cafes and kiosks, something for everyone.
The great bus service also runs to Skegness, Chapel St Leonards and Mablethorpe. Spar supermarket is very close by on foot or there is a Morrison’s in Skegness.
