Owner Description

We love staying at Aberdunant Park and are sure that you will too. Our caravan is situated in a sunny location in a beautiful and very well maintained country park, with stunning views of the Snowdonia mountains and a wealth of local attractions and activities that you can enjoy.

The accommodation:
The caravan enjoys one of the sunniest locations in the park, with a spacious and fenced garden. It is light, spacious and comfortable with an open plan lounge/diner. The kitchen is fully equipped with an electric kettle, toaster, gas cooker (with full oven), fridge and microwave. The lounge has two settees, one of which is a (small) double sofa bed. There is a TV with freeview and DVD player, with a selection of DVDs. Wi Fi is available at the hotel, and vouchers can be purchased if you wish to use it elsewhere.

There is one double and a twin bedroom. The double bed has a very comfortable mattress. The twin bedroom has single beds 2ft. 6" wide (75 cm) wide that are most suitable for children and younger teenagers. Each bedroom has plenty of storage space. Duvets and pillows are provided and we provide freshly laundered bed linen for your stay, but please bring your own towels and tea towels. The bathroom has an excellent shower, and can be accessed from the main bedroom or hallway. Outside there is a large garden enclosed by a fence. The garden is a sun trap! There is a table and chairs with a parasol, and other outdoor seating for you to enjoy and relax in. A BBQ is also provided, including charcoal. A gazebo is also available along with outdoor games and toys, including a pop-up tent, for children.

The park and local area:
The park provides several beautiful walks in woodlands, with streams and waterfalls, and stunning views of the surrounding area. There is a country hotel, with a terrace, bar and restaurant/bistro serving excellent food (and very good Sunday carvery) at a reasonable price. This is only a short walk from the caravan. The park also has a launderette.

Porthmadog is a busy harbour town, only 3 miles away. It has plenty of cafes, coffee shops, restaurants, and pubs. The town has an 'old fashioned' high street with plenty of interesting shops, plus a range of take-aways and supermarkets to provide for anything you may need. Even closer the village of Tremadog has a convenience store, excellent Fish & Chip shop, very good pubs and a popular bistro. The picturesque village of Beddgelert, situated at the foot of Snowdon, is only 3 miles away. There is a beautiful river walk from the village centre, where craft shops, cafes, restaurants, fish and chips, an ice cream parlour, and lovely pubs can be found.

What is available:
Situated within the Snowdonia National Park there are an abundance of mountains, hills, lakes, rivers and valleys to walk amongst offering a comprehensive range of walking experiences from easy low-level walks to the most challenging mountaineering and hill-walking routes. These offer some of the best walking available in the UK, with something suitable for children and adults of all ages and abilities, and it is all available on our doorstep.

A climb up Snowdon is a must for many people when visiting the area, and there are 10 possible routes to the summit ranging from the less strenuous and straightforward paths to the more challenging routes suitable for the more adventurous hill-walkers. Of course, you can take the train from Llanberis if you prefer.

There are many other mountains and hills to walk amongst in this majestic region such as Tryfan, where you can 'step' between the stone monoliths of Adam and Eve (the distance is about 1.2m), Cnicht (also known as the 'Matterhorn of North Wales'), or you can pose whilst someone takes your photo on the impressive Cantilever Stone on Glyder Fach. The Rhinogs in the southern part of the Snowdonia National Park is a little known gem that offers further walking in its beautiful, craggy hills and mountains that are slightly lower and less visited, with the chance to see the wild mountain goats that live in this particular area.

In addition there are many spectacular beaches, including Black Rock Sands (you can drive onto this enormous beach and quite happily spend the whole day there. It even has ice cream vans patrolling the beach!). Shell Island near Harlech, and Newborough Sands on Anglesey are just two other beaches worth visiting. The Lleyn Peninsula, with its breathtaking views from the top of Yr Eifl, the Ty Coch 'pub on the beach', or attractive coastal resort at Abersoch is well worth exploring; whilst the Coastal Footpath and Anglesey offer alternative but equally beautiful and attractive areas to explore and relax in.

There are opportunities to enjoy a full range of outdoor pursuits and activities, including hill-walking, climbing, canoeing / kayaking, horse riding, bird-watching and fishing. For those seeking an extra thrill there are the zip-wire rides at two locations in North Wales. Other attractions include several Welsh castles (Carnaevon, Harlech, Criccieth, Beaumaris, and Conwy are all nearby), ancient sites, Gelerts grave (on the edge of Beddgelert), The Italianesque style resort of Portmeirion, three steam railways nearby (there is a fourth if you include the one that goes up Snowdon), and many unspoilt villages and towns that offer craft shops and good tea shops / coffee shops, cafes, restaurants and pubs. Information about what is available in the surrounding area is left in the caravan for you to read.

Had a lovely week in this well equipped caravan. Kevin was great to deal with and sent all relevant details so that we were well prepared for our holiday. The caravan was really well equipped with everything we needed. It was clean, comfortable and in a lovely location. The weather was changeable but the caravan was equipped with a wide variety of books, games, DVDs and jigsaws to keep everyone occupied. The site is very picturesque with lots of walks. The onsite hotel served glorious food. I think we will definitely return in the future.

A fantastic, spotlessly clean well equipped holiday home. It made great accommodation for a weekend with friends who have their own home on the site. Mr and Mrs Amery were wonderful in ensuring that all of the beds were made on arrival, which makes such a difference after a day at work and then the journey. The site is quiet and picturesque with the waterfalls and trees. The manor house has a lovely bar for a quiet drink and the food is good. Once again great value for such wonderful accommodation. We thoroughly enjoyed our week in this lovely caravan. It had everything and more to make our stay very comfortable. The bed was the best caravan bed we have ever slept in as it was so comfortable. The shower was brilliant. At night the living area was very cosy! We will defiantly stay again. Thank you Kevin and Maggie for the use of your beautiful caravan.

We had a fantastic stay in this lovely clean caravan. The caravan contains everything you need during your stay. It was made very welcoming to us with all information about the caravan, the caravan site and surrounding area that we needed. It's located in a nice quiet part of the caravan site next to a grass area with a fountain that my 4 year old loved going down to play by, and look out for rabbits. We would happily stay here again, and hope to do so in the future. Thanks for everything Kevin.

We were pleased to have chosen a very cosy lodge, with a lot of information about the environment : maps, walks etc. We were very well informed how to get there and what we could expect before we left for Wales. If we will return, we would like to stay here again.
