Description

Description

Relax in comfort in this large warm lodge where time is your own and many activities keep the children happy and content. Enjoy the south facing balcony visited by red squirrels and woodpeckers, the view over the loch amid native woodland, and watch the stars at night with no light pollution. Yes, this quiet retreat is only 10 minutes from the shops and beach in Nairn. See the 33 reviews on TripAdvisor, all 5 star.

This Highland holiday home has a spacious living area, offset kitchen and 3 bedrooms. The double room has ensuite shower/toilet, while the twin and bunk rooms have a bathroom suitable for wheelchair users. Kept very clean, with broadband and many extras to make your holiday a memorable stay. We also have a chalet or caravan to provide comfortable accommodation at less cost. All no smoking inside.

Therese welcomes you to this organically farmed croft where you may collect eggs and feed pet lambs when present. This is considered a safe place to let children play outside on the trampoline, bikes and boat. A four minute video on our Hiddenglen website shows farm animals, children's activities and wildlife.

Nairn is a holiday town, Charlie Chaplin choose it for his holidays. With a low rainfall similar to Paris (yes, I bet that’s a surprise!), extra sunshine, sandy beaches and dolphins many families return many times. Being close to Inverness and the dark and misty loch endless monster hunting is a possibility! Castles, forts and distilleries are guaranteed. Mountains with moors and forests have rivers rushing through rocky pools to provide beautiful countryside in which to walk or explore with a mountain bike. Visitor centres, golf courses and restaurants are plentiful, as are retail parks for those with withdrawal symptoms!

Please contact us for a friendly chat to explain your requirements, with no pressure to make a booking, or visit our main website for more details. Prices start at £132 and rise to £694 per week. Late deals and short breaks maybe available.

Family With Older Children

Date of stay - 15 Oct 2019 - 18 Oct 2019

Amazing lodge, great surroundings and wonderful hosts - Peter and Therese. Apon arrival there were fresh eggs from their organic hens and folders full of advise on the surrounding areas, oh and a lovely card welcoming us! The view from the lodge was spectacular - loved sitting on the balcony with a cup of tea, enjoying the peace and quiet. We were out every day exploring the surroundings and even borrowed some of the wellies from the lodge as unfortunately the weather wasn't great but it didn't dampen our spirits, lol. On our last day, we helped out with the hens and got to pick and sort eggs (my personal highlight of the holiday!). We cannot wait to visit again - 4 days were definitely not long enough to do all the wonderful things near by! Thank you again for a wonderful holiday ????

Thanks Lisa. Hope that your next visit can be for longer, and we will try and sort the weather!

Date of stay - 14 Sep 2019 - 28 Sep 2019

From the warm welcome and first sight of the view from our balcony, we knew this was going to be a great holiday. The Lodge had everything and more, and importantly it was very clean. The living room and kitchen area is spacious and well presented, with all the kitchen facilities (toaster, microwave, utensils). The bedrooms are ideal for families, with plenty of wardrobe space. There is even an electric blanket if you need it. This is a place to relax, there is the peace and quiet, a great view from the lodge, fishing and boating on the loch (thank you Peter and Duncan for the loan of equipment). Plenty of short walks around the croft to stretch the legs in the morning and catch a glimpse of some wildlife. To top it all the friendliness of Peter and Therese and the young couple helping them out made sure this was a holiday to remember. We will be back. p.s. try the lamb and eggs from Peter and Therese!

Thanks Marrianne, we enjoyed seeing your family enjoy Laikenbuie. We look forward to your return.
