River Valley Country Park is well situated to explore West Cornwall. The towns of Penzance, Helston, Camborne and Hayle are all within easy reach. The market town of Penzance is the last stop on the old Great Western train line, home to Cornwall's only promenade and the Jubilee Pool, Britain's largest outdoor lido. Newlyn is famous as a maritime and fishing centre. Helston is associated with the 'floral dance' and nearby is Flambards Theme Park. The Camborne area is particularly linked with mining history heritage and the famous Cornish inventor Richard Trevithick.

Other places of special interest include Lands End (18 miles approx), St Ives home of the Tate Modern Art Gallery and the Barbara Hepworth Museum (10 miles approx), Marazion - and the world famous site of St Michael's Mount (3 miles approx) Porthcurno - carved into the rugged cliffs sits the Minack Theatre (15 miles approx), Botallack Mine & Cot Valley - Poldark territory with magnificent coastal path and engine houses (15 miles approx), The Lizard - Britain’s most south-westerly land point boasting its own stunning views (20 miles approx).

Slightly further afield are the towns of Falmouth, home of the National Maritime Museum, and Newquay - the surfing capital of the UK. For those who want to enjoy the waves closer to the site the beaches at Praa Sands (south coast) or Gwithian (north coast) are probably the best - both about 10 miles away. Other great beaches can be found at St Ives, Porthcurno, Sennen and the year round dog-friendly beach at Long Rock near Penzance.

Detailed information of local amenities and places of interest can be found at the site reception.

We can reassure guests that the van will be comprehensively cleaned between bookings and fresh bed linen provided. PLEASE BE RESPECTFUL of our van and our hospitality. When your visit has come to an end please leave the accommodation in the condition you would like to find it. We include a £50 CLEANING FEE with your booking which will be refunded if the van is left clean and tidy.

This was our first time staying at this site. The caravan and facilities provided with it, were second to none. Very clean, very well equipped and set in a beautiful woodland setting. It is very well placed as a base for all the very best Cornwall has to offer. I would highly recommend staying here. It was all very easy to contact owners and sort out all transactions. If you love the quiet life, and love wildlife, this is the accommodation for you. With squirrels, rabbits and lots of birds to see thanks to the bird feeder on the extensive decking area, it's perfect. Will definitely be booking again.

Have used River Valley many times and this is the first with Rab & Ali, beautiful holiday home in quiet location in excellent condition, great base for exploring Cornwall near the Lizard, Lands End and the north coast, so much to see and not enough time to do so.

Welcoming and warm caravan with all the essentials you would require plus more! Perfect location and right in the heart of Cornwall.. we were able to see most of the popular destinations during our stay. And we couldn’t thank the owners enough for allowing us to use their caravan for the week.. excellent value for money and would highly recommend! Thank you

Had a wonderful holiday staying in this perfect caravan situated in a most beautiful setting. Very private and quiet with numerous places to visit on the doorstep. Caravan was luxurious and contained everything you could need and more! Was great to take our 2 small dogs with us who enjoyed time on the enclosured decking and loved the enclosed dog field. Birds and squirrels visited daily which added to our holiday here. Appreciated the tvs in bedrooms with a teenage daughter in poor health was ideal on rough days! Will definitely be returning!!!

This is a beautiful caravan with everything and more you would expect from a caravan holiday. Comfy beds, spacious, clean, extra games equipment for the kids. I would def recommend this caravan and I would stay here again. Owners replies to emails were quick and helpful. Reasonably priced and location was excellent for us. Wish this was my van! Thanks again the Parkin family.

What a fantastic caravan everything that you need is in the caravan. The position of the caravan can't be beaten it was so quiet and peaceful. It was lovely to see the different birds coming to feed from the feeders on the balcony.I believe the bed is the most comfortable bed that we have slept on ever on our hols. The owners were lovely to deal with from making the booking to when we returned home.It was a pleasure to book with them. From the whole experience I wouldn't hesitate in making another booking in the future with them.

Outstanding!A fabulous caravan on a fabulous site. Everything was provided, a comfortable, spotlessly clean caravan. We arrived to find a pint of milk and a bottle of water in the fridge and a lovely personal message on a postcard on the dining area table. A warm cosy spacious van with beautiful large decked area. The use of all the facilities the owner provided made for a luxurious stay. Owners went above and beyond what was ever expected to provide us with a relaxing and easy holiday, wish we could have stayed longer. Very approachable owners, easy to communicate with which provided ease and peace of mind when booking.

Thank you very much for this review. We try to provide the same standard that we ourselves would like to receive.

Superb! A lovely modern and comfortable van, very well-equipped with everything you could possibly need, including all kitchen equipment, plus 3 t.v's and a sound system! Warm and cosy when chilly, with central heating and a very efficient fire in the living area, and also a large decking area so you can sit outside when sunny. A very attractive quiet and well-maintained site, and the caravan is not overlooked as there are plenty of trees screening each area.It is in pretty countryside, but within easy driving distance of lots of coastal towns and places of interest.Easy parking right outside the caravan. Caravan owners very helpful and courteous, made it easy to sort out booking and were happy to help with any queries. We'll be back!
