Rowantree Chalet is located on Laikenbuie Croft in an idyllic hiddenglen only 10 minutes drive from the seaside town of Nairn, well known for it’s sandy beaches, dolphins and low rainfall. It was a favourite holiday destination of the comedian Charlie Chaplin. The four holiday homes have adjacent parking and are set apart and screened by bushes to provide privacy. The diverse natural habitats in this secret glen provide homes for a host of wildlife including red squirrel, woodpeckers and roe deer, all maybe seen from your holiday home. We aim to provide a quiet refreshing relaxing holiday in natural surroundings which you will not find on a large holiday park. Many children put down “the tablet” and enjoy the many outdoor activities – egg collecting, pet lambs, row boat, trampoline, bikes, slide and treasure hunt!
Rowantree has 3 bedrooms (double, twin, single) with a shower room, and a sizeable kitchen, dining, sitting room. From here doors open onto a south facing patio with a beautiful view and the room quickly warms when the sun comes out. Gas for cooking, water heating and the sitting room fire is included, electricity for bedroom heaters is extra. The kitchen has a full size gas cooker, fridge and microwave; there is a washer and drier in the entrance porch.
The area is full of visitor attractions with restaurants in converted steadings, coastal/castle/whisky trails, Loch Ness and dolphin boat trips, steam railway, Cawdor Castle and Inverness retail therapy. We are always happy to make suggestions and direct you the lesser known places like wild swimming pools in the river and James’ Cafe at the Putting Green.

Date of stay - 17 Aug 2019 - 24 Aug 2019
We had a wonderful week at Laikenbuie staying in one of the chalets. Very peaceful and chilled with fantastic amenities. Lots do with the kids including taking out rowing boat on the water, a treasure hunt and feeding lambs on site. The owners were lovely and superb hosts. A short drive to Nairn and loads to do around including Inverness, Loch Ness and Cawdor Castle plus loads of great forest walks. Very very reasonable and will certainly look to stay again.
Thanks Sarah, we look forward to your return.
