Swanage Bay View Park

About the owner
Hi. I have been visiting this wonderful part of our country for many years and this year I bit the bullet and bought my 'happy place' at Swanage Bay View. My world is my fur babies (Labradors named Belle and Daisy), good food, wine and company and the stunning views and places in the surrounding area of Swanage. There is so much to do from boat trips round the stunning bays and coves, visiting the Blue Pool near Wareham, Corfe Castle and countless wonderful walks along the SW Coast Trail with numerous amazing pubs. I have recently retired after a 38 year teaching career and I am now training to be a counsellor. In addition to the dogs, we keep many horses as one of my three daughters is a show jumper. Please enjoy your time in my home from home and leave a comment in my guest book which I love to read each time I am down. Thanks. Dee

Huge new decking area overlooking both the beautiful Purbeck Hills and Swanage Bay which allows you to follow the sun! The van is dog friendly, although we do ask for your lovely pooches not to climb on the furniture or beds please. Two seating areas - one 6 seater table for meals and one bistro patio set of two rattan chairs and table overlooking the bay and beyond. Outside lights on decking. Outside water tap for washing off wet and smelly dogs!
There is a Nespresso machine for your use.
Brand new 2021 Willerby Brookwood van set on one of the best plots with stunning views over the coast and the beautiful Purbeck Hills too. Fully equipped van with large wall TV, all kitchen necessities and great attention paid to detail in the decor. Huge new decking area comprising two seating areas - the main area which has a table and chairs to seat 6 for meals overlooking both the bay and the hills and the second 'bistro' area comprising two rattan chairs and coffee table overlooking the garden and coast.
Newly designed and enclosed garden with solar lighting and wind spinner. Please ensure you clear up after your dogs. I would be very grateful if you could water the plants during your stay. There is an outside tap with hose for this purpose and also for washing off muddy/wet dogs! There is a planter filled with various herbs which you are welcome to sue in your cooking.
Please refer to the booklet in the van for all information about heating, the boiler, the various appliances, as well as many suggested places to visit.

Swanage Bay View Holiday Park is situated overlooking the town and the bay. Only 1 mile from the town centre, the beach and the steam railway which can be seen and heard at the start of its journey up to Corfe Castle from the van!
Inside Van208 is a comprehensive folder giving you a wide variety of options and all the vital info you may (or may not) need; Dentists, Vets, Public Transport, Eating, Drinking & Shopping etc.
There are 2 local shops within a 10 minute walk; the Costcutter shop on the High Street (which has a proper butchery department and a small freshly baked goods section) near the Globe pub and Golden Bengal and Arkwright's on the other end of High Street.
There are plenty of restaurants in Swanage if you don't want to go far, Seafood, Chinese, Indian and of course plenty of Independent Fish and Chip shops. Booking for pubs and restaurants highly recommended.
If restaurants aren’t your thing, then Swanage is awash with Pubs serving food. My personal preference is the Ship Inn or Anchor in town.
Hayman's bakery, Salt Pig Too (deli) and many other independent Café & Bakery outlets can be found in Town. The local Budgens does freshly baked artisan breads, local produce galore along with your basics - ditto the Co-op.
A few basics may be found in the van, such as tea, coffee & sugars; salt, pepper & vinegar; cling film & tin foil; a small selection of flavourings.
Linen is not provided so please bring your own bed linen (duvet covers, base sheets and pillow cases) and a selection of your own towels (beach, shower, hand & tea towels). Duvets and pillows can be found in their respective bedrooms. One King Size bed and two singles which can pushed together to form a double bed. There is also a pull-out bed in the lounge area which is a double (duvet and pillows provided under the seating area).
Pets are very welcome, but I ask if dogs do go on to the beds and sofa, that you put blankets down for them first please (a selection in cupboards). For my guests who do bring along their most welcomed pets, under the sink you will find a few bowls, doggy treats and the all important dog waste bags.
All around Swanage there are interesting places to visit, if you would like to go further afield, such as Corfe Castle, Blue Pool, Wareham, Durdle Door, Lulworth Cove, Monkey World, Osmington Mills, Bovington Tank Museum and many more attractions. There is also the beautiful countryside and award winning beaches, many places to walk, cycle or drive. Best sandy beaches found at Studland, but dogs on leads from April to October. This home is within walking distance of the coastal path and Durlston Country Park and overlooks the Dorset Wildlife Trust fields. There are many interesting scenic walks down into town. In the van you will find a well stocked leaflet display file.
A real home from home in a relaxing, peaceful spot, not overlooked by any other vans. So put your feet up and unwind. Outside you will find a huge new decking, a six seater table and chairs for dining, a bistro rattan set and an enclosed planted garden with planters and a rockery for your enjoyment.
On your day of departure, please be mindful of the short turn round time. So please leave van tidy with things put away and duvets on the beds - as you would want to find it. Could you also take your re-cycling and rubbish to the appropriate collection point on site – of which there are numerous. This is to allow a thorough clean & turnaround. Your cooperation is much appreciated. Many thanks.
The site is closed to all bookings from 15th January until 1st March each year.
