We are classed as a Platinum caravan - so PLEASE NOTE that cheaper caravans are available on this park either through Parkdean or other owners. We believe that ‘you get what you pay for’ and if home comforts and added extras are your thing, then you won’t be disappointed. We also try not to insist on tight arrival/departure times as these can sometimes result in you feeling that you’ve lost a day at either side of your holiday. K10 CayJay is our home from home and as such, contains all the home comforts you could possibly need to have a relaxing short break at this outstanding Parkdean Resorts holiday park. We are located in a quieter area of the park, next to the Nature trail but still only a few minutes walk from the main complex. Our new decking (Sept 2017) wraps around the van and opens up into a spacious sun trap which faces the woods and is relatively private. We have outdoor seating for the whole family to enjoy dining al fresco or just enjoy a drink in the sun. Not yet shown in photographs but there are two 2 seater benches facing each other with an outdoor coffee table between them, as well as the table and chairs. NEW FOR 2019 - new outdoor automatic security light to illuminate the path when you return to the caravan at night. There are also brand new chrome radiators in both bathrooms and brand new, brighter ceiling lights (as a result of previous guest feedback requesting more light!)
The caravan itself has an unusual layout with a central lounge and well-equipped kitchen with separate dining area (free-standing table and chairs.) Off the kitchen is the master bedroom with plenty of storage space and an en-suite bathroom with shower. Off the living area at the opposite side, you will find an additional bathroom with shower and two twin bedrooms, both with mounted TVs with freeview (and one with integrated DVD player.)
We provide an iron and ironing board, hairdryer, wide toaster (great for crumpets or muffins!) We also have a coffee machine, microwave and full sized fridge freezer. In the lounge you will find a Freeview TV with built-in DVD player, a Nintendo Wii with a selection of family games. We also provide a range of family board games, books, movies and magazines to enjoy during your stay. If you prefer to listen to your own music, we have a Bluetooth DAB radio so you can connect your device and play your favourite playlists.
For younger guests, we can provide toddler plates/cups, a safety gate, high chair and a bed guard on request.
There is no need to check-in through Reception which can get quite busy, as you will be given a unique code with which to access the key safe attached to our van.
If you wish to purchase entertainment passes, prices can be made available to you and should be purchased at Reception. Prices can be sent to you when you enquire with us.
Your bedding will be included and all beds are made up for your arrival. We also provide a small welcome pack to enable you to have a cuppa before you unpack!
Basic cleaning materials (for washing up) are also provided, as well as a vacuum cleaner should you feel the need to clean during your stay.
The van has added homely touches with a beach theme. The beach itself is spectacular and is less than 15 minutes walk away (although be aware that it's rather steep!) However, for most of the year, you will find Lucy's Beach Shack where you can purchase a range of food, drinks and beach gear - a great place to sit and admire that stunning Bay with an ice cream or a hot chocolate!
As for the holiday park, the facilities include a family pool with slides and organised water activity programme. There is an excellent amusement arcade for all to enjoy. Outside is a fabulous children's play park plus an Astro turf sports pitch. A bungee trampoline has also recently been added. There's a 9 hole mini golf course as well as a crazy golf course. The on-site NISA shop is well-stocked for your essentials as well as beach gear and gifts. Newly opened in 2017 is the Fish and Chippery which provides an excellent range and quality of food you would expect to find.
In the Boathouse bar and restaurant, you will find a spacious dining and drinking area with a variety of seating options including booths with widescreen TVs showing all the latest sports events etc. The quality of the food is superb and the outdoor seating/dining area is relaxing and an absolute sun trap (a great way to while away the afternoons and evenings watching the kids play!) Within the Boathouse is a well-equipped soft play area for the younger guests.
In the main ShowBar, you can expect to find a huge variety of entertainment programmes ranging from children's activities during the day, bingo and quiz games in the early evening and a huge variety of family entertainment during the evenings. Karaoke is usually on in the Boathouse once the main evening's entertainment has ended. The ShowBar boasts large screen displays with an excellent sound system. It also features a gift shop for the children and usually there's face painting, glitter tattoos etc. There is the opportunity to book a table package for special occasions (see posters in ShowBar for details and prices!)
The Troupers (entertainment team) are second to none and will keep the children (and adults) entertained all day long. They frequently produce show stopping entertainment extravaganzas which are not to be missed!
The site is extremely safe and well-maintained, with 24 hour security patrols and they are available for you to contact out of hours should you need any assistance on site.
The site also has a laundrette.
AVAILABILITY: We tend to stay here most weekends in the off peak season, and so have set availability up as Monday - Friday. However, if you'd like a weekend or a full week, or a period shown as unavailable, please ask as we are willing to hire out for some of these weekends.
Cayton Bay Holiday Park is open all year round and is a fabulous, peaceful getaway in off-peak season, despite the limited facilities (Nov-Feb) During this time, the entertainment programme is suspended, the shop closed and the bars/restaurant and takeaway are also closed. Security are always on site for gas bottle changes etc. and there is a pub serving food across the road and easy access to local facilities. Peak season runs from Easter to September and mid-season is all other times (there's a reduced entertainment programme, shorter shop opening hours etc) and our pricing will reflect this.
If you choose to venture off-site, you will find a fabulous local pub with outdoor play area, serving excellent food and also providing their own entertainment just across the road from Park. Outside the pub is a bus stop which will take you into Scarborough. If you prefer to drive, Scarborough is a short 4 mile drive away; Filey is 4 miles in the opposite direction and Bridlington is only a 20 minute drive away too. There is a Jet/Spar petrol station only 1 mile from site or a Morrisons just a ten minute drive away. If you prefer not to cook or go out at any point during your stay, there are a wide range of takeaway outlets who deliver direct to the caravan (details in our brochure!)
**IMPORTANT INFORMATION**
PLEASE CHECK OUR AVAILABILITY AND PRICING BEFORE SENDING YOUR ENQUIRY - We do tend to keep the availability section up to date and a price should be generated for you when you select your dates. In some circumstances, it will suggest that you check with us for a price but this is rare.
ALLERGY ADVICE - We do not rent the caravan out to pet owners but you need to know that we bring our dogs with us when we visit. We don't rent out to guests with pets simply because we would have to charge a larger deposit to safeguard from pet accidents or misdemeanours! We use a Dyson Animal when we clean and our dogs are not allowed on the furniture or in the bedrooms so there shouldn't be an issue with pet hairs. However, for people with serious allergies, we would advise that we can't guarantee you wouldn't come into contact with any stray hair.
LAST MINUTE BOOKING REQUESTS - We are happy to accommodate last minute requests as far as possible. However, we do our own cleaning/changeovers and live 45 minutes away, whilst also having school runs and work commitments. We would therefore advise a minimum of 2 days notice prior to your chosen dates.
INSURANCE - we have only ever been asked this once or twice - but sadly there are undesirables out there advertising caravans fraudulently. We are all verified owners on this site and have watermarked our pictures. We are more than happy for you to call the Park directly to confirm our ownership status if you wish. Alternatively, there are a number of companies (Post Office for example) who offer low priced insurance for UK short breaks and holidays if you require additional peace of mind.
INVOICES/RECEIPTS - once your deposit has been received, you will be sent an email confirmation of receipt and your dates will be booked out for you. We will then ask for some details to be added to your invoice and this will then be emailed to you along with a park map etc. Each time a payment is made (if paying in instalments) you will be sent an updated invoice. As a very busy working family, this may not always happen as quickly as we would like - but you will always receive it within a day or so at most.
DEPOSIT RETURN - as soon as we have visited the caravan after your stay (usually a Friday but not always) we will check that the van is clean and damage-free and then will email you to request your bank details. Your deposit will then be transferred back to you. Again, this does not always happen as quickly as we'd like, as life has a habit of getting in the way at times, but you WILL be refunded if the van is found as it was left.
