th FAQ

IS the LODGE open throughout the year..?

Each HAVEN PARK has different opening times and so you are guided to look at the availability page to be sure that the lodge will be open at the time you wish to visit. Some times the lodge is available for the extended season which runs from 1st March to 3th January annually. Please note that communal facilities such as swimming pool, jacuzzi, clubroom etc. are not available bwteen 1st November and 1st March each year.

Is smoking permitted..?NO

Our lodge is designated a complete no-smoking zone. It not only smells and so is annoying to us and other guests who may follow you, but it is now against the law (you are in a public place). It also invalidates the owners fire insurance.

Do we get a price reduction for less than 8 people staying..?
Unfortunately not. You pay to rent the property irrespective of the number of occupants up to the agreed maximum.

Can we book a bachelor party.. ?no or a hen party ? no

Bookings are only accepted from family groups. We do generally not accept parties where there are more than three adults of the same gender, per party. If this is the case you should send an email to verify prior to booking.

Can we book last minute..?

Our reputation for high quality often results in us being booked far in advance. We only have the three lodges style homes not dozens like the commercial parks and so when its booked that’s it. We therefore suggest that when you see dates available which suit your diary that you make an online booking there and then.

What does the price include..?

Just about everything… The prices shown on the dates and prices page covers the complete rental charge regardless of number of occupants and so the only additional charges are your food and drinks supply of electricity for the lodge and gas are free Use of all additional facilities: club room bars ,pool, Jacuzzi and Sauna[owners lounge only ] are not free-of-charge. Haven sell passes to these areas should you want them we do not supply or act as agents to purchase these (Note these facilities are closed between November 1st and March 1st).

How much do we have to pay for utilities..?

Power and water are costs are covered by us . Experience has shown that the typical cost for guests in the summer will be approx £3 per day. Conversely, Guests in winter can expect to cost us around £6 per day. “Your mileage may vary.” but either way its free to you during your stay , unless exesive use is discovered ,ie. battery charging on electric cars etc

At what times do we have to arrive and depart..?

The lodge will be available to occupy at 3pm on the first day of your holiday. When leaving you should be packed and departed by 10 am.

Can we hire bed linens cotton /mix what’s included..?
If you do not take up the bed linens option then you can expect the beds to have mattress protectors, pillows and duvets.

For an additional charge we can supply each guest with a pack of linens and comprising: cotton / mix sheets, duvet covers, pillowcases, a selection from tea-towels or dish cloth or J-cloth.

If you purchase the linens option then beds will be made up ready for your arrival. Sleeping arrangements:

There is a 4′ 6″ double bed in the main bedroom and twin 3′ single beds in the second bedroom , with slightly smaller in third bed room so bed rooms can accommodate 6 persons. Up to 2 extra people can use the pull out sofa bed in the lounge , Max 8 people

Order bed-linens accordingly when completing the booking form, or else bring your own to suit the arrangement in your chosen group booking

Can we bring our pet..?

No. unfortunately we can’t accommodate pets or dogs owners must observe this rule .

When filling out your booking form please be sure to confirm to us that you will not be bring a pet to avoid any retrospective charges which will be levied after your stay

Is there a bar or restaurant in the park..?

We think you will like the commercial zone , amussments pool central clubhouse, bar and restaurant. The emphasis is on family fun and quality entertainment rather than unorganized activity. There are also a number of good value pubs and high quality restaurants within a short distance of the lodge should you like a quieter time . More detailed information is available in the Guests Welcome Folder when you arrive.

Will my mobile phone work when we arrive..?

Coverage at the lodge is sporadic on all four primary networks, although O2 users report better success within the parkland than others. All networks are useable in some parts of the area . One of our clubrooms has a payhone installed and there is a public payphone in the main building hall way .

Where can I get to on the bus..?

Our advice is not to rely upon a bus if you are visiting the lakes unless it is to take a ride on some of the UK’s most scenic bus journeys. Stagecoach run a frequent’ish circular service (The Coniston Rambler) during the tourist season which starts at Windermere and runs through Ambleside, Skelwith Bridge, Coniston and Hawkshead. (It calls at the car park of the Skelwith Bridge Hotel.) An additional service which runs from Ambleside along the Langdale Valley and back, twice a day, stops at the same place as The Rambler. An up to date timetable is often posted in the window of the office at the tourist advise post

What about wheelchair access. Is it on the level..?

Remember you’re going to be in a family park. The service roads are made-up but many of the pathways are gravel. The car parking area is all flat tarmac and there is a wheelchair ramp up onto the deck. in the club room From the car parking areas You should decide which route is best suited for someone in a wheelchair without assistance.

Bath or shower..?

The lodge has a walk-in shower – no bathtub.

Where can I park my car. Will it be safe..?

There is a numbered private car parking space at the lodge parking zone . Car crime in the locality is exeptionally low, however, if you are leaving your car you should be aware that the vehicle will be visible from the lodge windows and door you dont have to leave the lodge to see your car , We are not responsible for your car or its contents while parked at our lodge.
