About the owner

Hi, we have been owners at Kelling since 2012 when we purchased our first holiday home here after visiting a friend and basically fell in love with what Kelling Heath had to offer. We live in Norfolk where Mike was born and bred and I came to Norfolk in 1972 after travelling the world with my parents. Mike was a Police Officer and stationed at Holt so knows the area well and he now works part time for the railway which is where the name 'Poppy Junction' came from for our holiday home. I have worked for 27 years for a charity in Norwich. We have taken many self catering holidays ourselves with our 3 boys and gained valuable experience on the best ways to provide a great holiday.

Poppy Junction is on one of the largest plots on Kelling Heath. It offers seclusion and privacy and is ideally situated for those who are interested in wildlife. Our garden leads through a natural wooded area onto a firebreak. This provides plenty of space to roam or you can enjoy a family game of cricket or football. Named after the 'Poppy Line' which is the heritage railway that runs between Sheringham and Holt (just a short walk away) it is well equipped with everything you need for a comfortable stay and has a real 'home from home' feel. It has plenty of off-road parking. The conservatory and decking overlook the back garden which is ideal for sitting and watching the many varieties of birds on the feeders, squirrels and deer who visit the plot frequently. We have plenty of outside seating for 'Al fresco' dining and provide a BBQ for our guests. No need to bring any buckets and spades for a visit to the local beach as we supply these along with tennis racquets (court on site), table tennis bats (tables on site), football, cricket set and crabbing buckets. For our 'young at heart' guests we have introduced a 'Secret Garden' which helps to give it a magical touch.

Poppy Junction is an ideal place to stay whether you require a family holiday, a holiday with friends (option of two double beds) or for couples just seeking peace and quiet.

Our bookings for weekly stays are normally Saturday to Saturday and we also offer Monday to Friday breaks. Please contact us with your requirements.

Poppy Junction caravan, well what can I say, this is a warm and very comforting caravan. We had a fantastic stay there, the owners put there own special touch within it and spoil there guests with extra’s. Haven’t had this at other caravans we have stayed in. The setting at Kelling Heath is great. People who stay here, won’t be disappointed.

We having been visiting Kelling Heath for many years and Poppy Junction is situated in a great plot, near to the ponds and not too far from the centre. Great to relax, unwind and watch the wildlife, the squirrels and the deer and the wide variety of birds. The caravan itself is really well equipped, Sharon and Mike have thought of everything. Communication was great, all emails replied to really quickly. Having two toilets, a shower and a bath made it all the more comfortable . We hope to visit again. Thank you.

Thank you so much for taking the time to do a review after your stay with us. Looking forward to your next visit.

'Poppy Junction' has to be set in one of the most idyllic positions on Kelling Heath. The caravan itself was just beautiful and had a very homely feel about it that provided us with everything we needed. The added extras were such a lovely touch and the communication from the owners was second to none. I would not hesitate in recommending this caravan. Thank you so much for a wonderful week and we cannot wait to return.

Thank you so much for this lovely review and as first time visitors we are so pleased that you want to return again. Thanks again.

Poppy Junction was such a lovely caravan (thought the train signs were brilliant) with a fabulous garden. We saw animals everyday wander through and loved how the garden was quirky and fun. It's in a nice quiet part of the site and within walking distance of the main village square. Sharon's customer service was 10/10 and updated us/ Wished us a lovely stay just before we came. Thanks for the cake and wine.... went down a treat!. We will 100% be staying here again. We don't want to leave! Sarah & Nathan.

We stayed at Poppy Fields for one week and found the caravan extremely clean with everything that you needed. The extras of tea coffee milk and sugar including sachets of sauces were welcoming.Toilet roll washing up liquid and handsoap was all provided including a first aid box.Due to it being my birthday I was also provided a welcoming bottle of wine and 2 cakes. The plot is lovely and quiet with a huge garden. We saw deer, squirrels and lots of birds everyday .The mother and her young deer visited in the morning.I would definitely visit again. Its very homely and I liked that the lounge was separate from the kitchen and eating area. You also have two toilets and both bedrooms had ensuites.I would highly recommend to stay in this caravan as you would not be dissapointed. They even had tennis rackets, squash rackets and ping pong bats and footballs that we all used.We also went crabing in Blakeney and the owners provided all the buckets and crab nets. Thanks to Mike and Sharon for making our stay very welcome with an excellent service and accommodation.

What a great review Samantha thank you so much. Mike and I just try to think of what we would like self catering holidays to provide, especially when you have younger members of the family with you. Hope to see you again.

With all the Covid-19 situation around at the time and Kelling Heath only being open for two weeks prior to our visit we envisaged a weird stay with lots of restrictions. However Kelling Heath were excellent. A manned gate at the main entrance checked cars coming in and out, the restaurant, shop and facilities that were open were all cleaned regularly and had full social distance rules and limited numbers allowed in. Not that you needed to go anywhere while staying at Poppy Junction! What a superb homely static holiday home this is. It has its own personal touches with the red poppy theme throughout. Sharon and Mike are amazing and won’t let you into the unit before 3pm as its fully cleaned and has sanitizer ready for you at the door if needed. The unit itself is very clean and made myself and my family feel very homely and comfortable throughout our week. We took bikes and used the park to explore, you are not that far from the main centre by bike. It reminded me of Centre Parcs bike riding around the woods and various roads exploring all the way to the railway crossing. The Huff and Puff bike centre with help with routes if needed. Our highlights from our stay at Poppy Junction were; The deer in the garden, just how safe and relaxed we felt sleeping , the personal touches of the unit that give it character, the superb North Norfolk coast and why we always come back! I can’t recommend this any more than I have. My only worry now is that it sells out and we can’t book another week! Thanks to Sharon and Mike for having such pride in your holiday home and sharing it with others! Mr & Mrs M.

Thank you so much Mr and Mrs M and family for such a great review.

We had a fabulous week at Poppy Junction. The caravan is cosy and well equipped, with everything you could want for a comfortable stay, including a selection of books, games and DVDs. Booking and communication with the owners was excellent, and it was lovely to arrive at the caravan on a stormy day and find a welcome tray with biscuits and milk in the fridge; the extra touches were much appreciated. The caravan is in a lovely, peaceful spot on the Kelling Heath site, with a secluded garden, and we especially enjoyed watching the wildlife in the garden (jays and other garden birds, squirrels and muntjac deer), and walking out of the bottom of the garden straight into the woods. Our stay was really relaxing and we have already booked to stay again. Thank you Mike and Sharon. :)

Thank you for your review. See you all again soon :)

Wow, what can I say. Firstly the commnication and booking was excellent. We arrived to find a perfect caravan in every way. It was cleaned to a high standard and was equiped with everything you need for a comfortable stay. Also the extras were amazing, washing up liquid, hand soap, biscuits on arrival. In every caravan I have ever stayed in this is unheard of, the extras were a perfect touch. It really felt like a home and not a caravan. We were visited by deer in the morning eating breakfast, amazing. The caravans rear garden is sheltered and not overlooked by the road so you really do feel relaxed. The site itself is wonderful, with indoor and outdoor pool and beautiful walks. We will be comming back. A perfect location with a perfect caravan thank you

Thank you very much for your review. We are so glad that you had such a lovely time at Kelling.

What a fantastic place to stay. Very homely, clean and full of all you could need. It is set in the woods, so feels very private. All you can hear are the birds singing and the trees rustling. Breakfast was spent watching the squirrels! Our daughter (aged 4) loved the toy basket and finding the fairies in the garden! The play area and pool onsite was also a winner. Surrounding area lovely, even in the rain.......steam train from Sheringham to Holt was a time travelling treat. Owners extremely helpful, nothing too much effort. Many thanks for a lovely long weekend, we will be back if you will have us!

This was our second visit to Woodland a Dell and we will definitely be booking again! The caravan is clean and well-equipped and has everything you need plus lots of little extras, such as a lovely welcome tray provided to start you off and gifts and sweets for the children, such a nice touch! Soap and washing-up liquid are provided too and also condiments and sauces in the cupboard (an added bonus not found in most rental places!) There is a really lovely private garden which backs onto a fire-break so ample space for ball-games etc. There is also a picnic table with seats in the garden so we were able to eat outside several times during our stay. Just can't praise this place enough, we love it!

Our second visit to Woodland Dell. I really can't praise this place and it's owners enough. Clean, tidy, comfortable. Lots of little extras you don't get everywhere: a welcome tray with tea, coffee, biscuits etc. a smoothie and some sweets for our little boy and a Spiderman Colouring set which was a huge hit! Washing up liquid and hand soap in all the sinks! (Highly appreciated) Secure outside storage for bikes is brilliant plus it's full of lots of outdoor games for kids (small & big!!). A selection of books and puzzles again for big & little people! Everything you could possibly need has been thought of And nothing is too much trouble. Thank you!! We'll be back definitely but not soon enough :-(

A super well equipped comfortable caravan on a great plot. Our little boy loved all the extra little friends in the garden and the box of books and puzzles for children in the caravan was a wonderful surprise. A welcome tray with tea, coffee, milk and biscuits plus a drink and sticker book for our little boy was really thoughtful, Thankyou. We had a super week and can't wait to return
