Sept - two COUPLES (Brother & Sister-in-Laws), SITTINGBOURNE
Email1: Just to say a big thankyou for letting us have the use of your caravan.
We have had a lovely week.
Will vacate early in the morning.
Email 2: In receipt of the holding deposit cheque of £50. Thankyou very much.
We had the most wonderful week, your caravan is very comfortable and cosy. Could have done with another week! Just as you are settling in and finding your way around the island, it's time to pack up and ho home.
We done so much. Every day was an adventure and we also managed a lovely day on the beach at Sandown.
It's been many years since we have been on the island, our Children being young and having to keep them amused.
This time, we were able to do a few things for our own enjoyment like Osbourne house and Portsmouth war museum.
Your caravan is in the perfect position. So well equipped, you thought of everything. We were so happy when we saw the lovely green in front of us. I rise quite early so was nice for me to sit outside in the morning enjoying the peace, and the view of the sea was an added bonus.
We would love to stay again maybe 2023. We have a wedding in Spain next year.

On line review in UKCaravans4Hire (5/5 stars)
- Had another relaxing holiday at Jim and Sue’s caravan! Such a beautiful spot with sea views! The caravan was wonderful and immaculate as always. We will be back next year....
June - FAMILY GATHERING (18 months-89 years), NORTHAMPTON; BOTH CARAVANS.
On-line review in UKCaravans4Hire under Reflections-3 caravan (5/5 stars):
- Having stayed previously in this caravan (Reflections-3) & indeed also Barefoot on the Beach I would highly recommend. This time my Grown up daughter & her partner shared with us along with my elderly father Everything you might need is provided for it is very clean & comfortable with lovely hot showers The site it’s self is lovely with beautiful views & very well maintained not to mention the fantastic beach just a small walk from the caravan The owners are very helpful & always go beyond providing useful information for places to see & good food recommendations Although the weather was mixed we thoroughly enjoyed our stay again having been many times before & hopefully will be back soon.
Email: Brief message we are home now. We had wonderful stay & we're fairly lucky with the weather. Delayed ferry back but not a problem. It's such a special place & never disappoints. Will post a review tomorrow/Monday. Very pleased to report although slow my Almost 90 year old father can still walk down & back to that glorious beach. Big thanks
May - MUM DAD SON (8) , VISITING AUNTY, STORRINGTON
Email: Thanks very much – we had a lovely time and were very sad to have to come home (our son shed quite a few tears!). What an amazing setting for your caravan -so relaxing to sit at the table and look out across the site and then across to the sea. We appreciated being able to use the binoculars and telescope to see what sailed past. You asked before for feedback about the cleaners - the caravan was absolutely spotless and lovely to have basic supplies available on arrival (soap, toilet rolls, milk and tea bags).
Yes please do transfer over the holding deposit to a booking deposit for next year and I’m attaching the completed booking form.
I hope you get some lovely weeks or weekends over at your caravan this summer and look forward very much to going back there next year. We would have loved to have come back in October half-term but saw that was already taken – not surprisingly!
2020 (no guest book because of Covid restrictions):
Oct - COUPLE, LUDLOW

Sept - COUPLE, West Bromwich
Email from home: Have just got in from staying a lovely time at you caravan. Thank you for letting us hire it , time always goes too quickly and we always come away wishing it could have been longer. The weather as been good to us, although it as been a bit breezy at times, but this as not stopped us getting round and about. The views of the bay and St Helens and the clean air we hope will get us through the winter months and we look forward to returning to the Island next year all being well.
We wish you both well in your ventures at Sandhills and hope the end of the season and next year are successful, especially with your new caravan.
Email 2: thank you for the use of your caravan and the return of the holding deposit. From the notice on the window of the van, we see that you are resisting its position for the new coming season and wish you both the best with its new site. Hope your internet will have a stronger signal in the new location, possible the trees were the problem with the signal break up.
My iPhone could pick up WhatsApp voice and text from the lounge of the van, but had to go down by reception to make video calls to Australia (Skype video) to my sister.and (WhatsApp video) to our son and grandson in Manchester.
We found your van ever so warm with just back up heat from the 3 small oil filled radiators ( 2 in the lounge and one in the bedroom.
We did not use your quilt or pillows on the double bed, as we took our own Vango double sleeping bag and pillows, (I have a slight amount of spondylitis in my neck , so have a special pillow) and a fleece blanket which we found we did not need.
Hope we find you both and the family all well.
Sue/Jim clarification: The caravan is NOT being moved from its current sea view position; it was moved in 2019 :)

Email - Thank you so much for allowing us to stay in your caravan. We had a great time and the caravan was perfect for the 4 of us.
The TV did seem to struggle a bit, maybe a signal issue? But wasn’t too much of an issue for us as we didn’t use it much. Thought best to mention it if you want to check for future people staying
We are thinking about returning for 2 weeks again next year in the summer holidays so if you can let us know when you will be taking bookings it would be much appreciated
Thanks again and we look forward to hearing from you soon.

Wonderful holiday in such a beautiful setting. Caravan was simply perfect. We will definitely return. Many thanks Jim & Sue. Best wishes, R,N,J x
Very nice comfortable caravan. Nice quite site. Very lucky with the weather. Thank you both for your holiday advice.
Text 1: we are having a great time at sandhills. Wondered if you could tell us the site references of your other caravans and the proposed plot for resiting barefoot so we can have a look. Really impressed with the location and the nice personal bits n pieces in barefoot.
Reply: our other caravans are S9 and E54 we have given the site our preferred plots but no one is moving at present. We hope there might be movement at the end of this season but we have just got to wait and see.
Text 2: Thanks for the site info. We arrived home safely last evening after a great relaxing holiday at barefoot. Thanks for all your help and attention to detail. Weather was kind to us. Note: The bird hide at alverstone - a notice at the entrance to the unmade lane states hide closed from mid march 2017 I think for safety reasons and cars are not allowed in the lane however we did see red squirrels elsewhere!
Guest book: We are a very 'chilled out' couple!
Your caravan has a very homely feel and is a peaceful & tranquil place to relax, particularly as the site has been very quiet.
A 'must' to come back soon.
Thanks so much - you've been very accommodating.

Email: Just to let you know we had a really lovely holiday that week in IoW, lucky with the weather nearly the entire week, and the caravan was great with everything we needed.
Failed to get the girls – both teenagers – to write on rocks like the others who stayed but they did write two pages in the guest book…silly stuff.
Just FYI things we liked:
Wonky Café great for breakfast and snacks, Whitecliff bay beach was better than ever this year generally Culver Haven Inn – went there last year, still good.
Propeller Inn – had not been back since we first came 5 years ago, when we had a so so meal, but this time it was
cracking – steak dinners very good indeed.
Pilot Boat Inn – best crab sandwich, very nice and have been every year without fail.
Sally’s Riding School – again, go every year and the girls had a beach horse ride at St Helen’s. Excellent as usual
Monkey Haven nr Newport – first time there, great place
IoW zoo – always a good bet, been every year
Decent Indian in Shanklin, was Purple Mango now called something else?
Decent takeaway from Lu Shan Chinese in Bembridge, had sit down there before, left menu in caravan as they deliver to Sandhills
Shanklin Chine in day & night still good…we like Shanklin seafront all round
Avoided **** on your advice, been there a few times before and it was OK but gave it a miss this time.
Osborne House, Sandown Seafront, The Needles and Ventnor all nice as always…
We always go to the Hare & Hound in Arreton nr Robin Hill, good for drinks and nibbles
Yes, we did a lot that week. We will more than likely come back and book with you next year, unless a planned trip to Australia happens (family live there)
Thanks – we had a brilliant week in the IoW and caravan was spot on. The R Family

2 Couples: Husband, Wife & Parents, Northants
Review: Good morning, just a brief email to say how much we enjoyed our stay in your lovely caravan, we found it beautifully clean and welcoming and the views over the bay were wonderful. Not to mention the hot showers, and the gift you so thoughtfully left for us, will make a great paperweight on my desk at work.
My parents are well rested, and we made the walk down to the Wonky Cafe most mornings for breakfast. I did not think that my Mom & Dad would manage the steep climb but they did! Also walked up to the monument from the campsite, took it slowly but got to the top and back down, which I thought was incredible given that Mom is 86 and Dad 84!!! must be the sea air.
Thank you again, will definitely return.
