Description

Description

As a family of nature lovers, a professional artist & tutor with creative daughter (& treasured dog!), our “little cabin” has given us ten years of happy holidays with many special memories & new experiences. We’d love to share this special place with you & have added extras such as art & craft kits, binoculars with lots of bird feeders & nature books, dog bowls, bed & treats along with a comprehensive folder of all the special places my family have discovered in this beautiful area of Norfolk.
The holiday home itself has an unusual "transverse apex" design with the living area having large, low windows on two sides giving tranquil views of the ancient woodlands with a path to the grassy avenue beyond the private, fully enclosed garden. The apex design also gives a vaulted high ceiling with a central high quality fan & light fitting. The accommodation is light & airy in summer, cosy in the cooler months with central heating & a flame effect electric fire in the lounge; there is a comfy corner sofa & armchairs. It is decorated with paintings, photographic canvases & crafts from my creative friends. . There is also a long futon sofa in the sunny porch to relax on whilst enjoying the antics of squirrels & many species of birds that visit. The porch also provides invaluable extra space for drying coats, dogs or towels & storage for walking boots etc,( A washing line outside with airer are provided & there is a launderette in the village for winter use). The king size master bedroom has an en-suite toilet, the second bedroom can be a twin or queen sized bed. Beds are made up for your arrival & Copperleaf is professionally cleaned. There is a shower room with small child's bath & seating in the shower base. The open plan, well equipped kitchen & dining area make for sociable cooking, games, jigsaws & creative pursuits with extra luxuries such as a Nespresso machine.
Some of our favourite pastimes we've enjoyed & hope you would too are walking our dog on the award winning SSSI heath land, taking part in the park's guided nature walks or craft activities, pampers in the wood clad spa with views of the trees & occasional deer as we swam! We have spent many summer days playing ball games in the heated outdoor pool with poolside lunches. The outdoor pool is free with a daily charge for the indoor spa & gym . There is a wide choice of dog friendly places to eat in the park's village square with a well-stocked shop, helpful guest reception, free wifi & varied programme of pop up events such as local musicians playing in the bandstand in the evenings.
Our holiday home is only a ten minutes stroll to the park's village square or you can walk to nearby Weybourne with its "Poppy" steam railway station, dog friendly pub, shop & beach with access to the coastal path. Kelling Heath Holiday Park has its very own "halt" for the steam train which takes you to the upmarket town of Holt with quality galleries & independent shops or the quaint coastal town of Sheringham, linking up with the main train line to Cromer with its unique pier or on to shopping at Norwich.
A short drive away are opportunities for fossil hunting & rock pooling at West Runton, bird watching at Cley or crabbing & seal watching trips at Blakeney Quays. Boat trips on the broads, walks on beautiful beaches at Holkham & Wells-next-the-Sea or trips to Pensthorpe reserve are all within an hour's drive.
As you can see, a holiday at "The Copper Leaf Retreat" really is a chance to relax, unwind & leave the outside world behind. We think it’s a special place where you can have quality time making memories to treasure with your family & friends. We look forward to sharing our holiday home with you & hope we have provided everything you need for a wonderful time.

Family With Older Children

Date of stay - 24 Oct 2019 - 28 Oct 2019

I would recommend this caravan to anyone, it is well equipped, spacious, clean, with a quiet and private location on the Kelling Heath site. It is also suitable for a visit all through the year due to its central heating which kept it warm even when the overnight temperature dropped to 0. The owner was helpful and quick to respond to my queries and all aspects of my booking were handled smoothly.

Hi Daniel, Thank you for your excellent review; I really appreciate your 10/10 recommendation & helpful information. I look forward to having you & your family to stay next summer . Best wishes, Denise

We had a lovely family holiday seeing lots of wildlife in the lovely garden which is very relaxing with lots of places to sit and enjoy the scenery. The caravan is in a lovely location only being a short walk to Kelling Heath site village. The caravan is well equipped with everything you could think of, it's like home from home with the bed being particularly comfy in the main bedroom. Tea, coffee and milk were there on arrival which was a welcome treat. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and have made some happy family memories.

Thank you for letting me know what you liked about Copperleaf. It’s a pleasure to know that I have helped a young family make some special memories, best wishes Denise

Wow!! Just wow! We loved our stay here. The photos really don't do the place justice. The living room is spacious, airy and light and with the great weather we had we were able to leave the doors open so our cockapoo 'Boo' could come and go as he pleased. The garden is a lovely place to be with plenty of seating. Lots of bird feeders mean lots of visits from the wildlife. The kitchen is well equipped with everything you need and more. A full sized fridge freezer is fab to have. Denise even leaves some basic essentials there for you to use too! As a family, having an en suite loo in the main bedroom was soooooo handy! The position of the caravan is fab for a peaceful and relaxing break or to use as a base to visit the many coastal towns close by. We cant wait to book again and will definitely become regulars here. Thank you Denise for THE best holiday we've EVER had.

Hi Lynne, Many thanks for taking the time to write your wonderful review. It’s so rewarding to know that you all, including Boo, have enjoyed your stay! Thank you for highlighting the facilities & features of our “little cabin” that you appreciated. We look forward to having you all to stay again soon! Best wishes, Denise & family

We hired this caravan at last minute as a quick get away to spend some time as a family due to my work commitments during the majority of the kids summer holidays. The caravan was perfectly located for us as it was really peaceful but still only a few minutes walk to the centre of Kelling Heath site. The plot was very dog friendly, allowing us to leave the caravan door open without the worry of our dog doing a runner. Denise always replied to any questions quickly and left all the information needed for our stay. Loved the caravan lay out, especially the large window on the side of the living room allowing you to look out onto the enclosed garden area as the kids played.

Many thanks, Stuart, for your wonderful review- it’s always interesting to hear what guests have enjoyed & appreciated about our holiday home & the park. So glad that you had some peace & quality time with your family. Thank you for the fabulous ratings- I must admit I did a little cheer to achieve 10/10! Always happy to accommodate you & your family for future bookings- last minute or more planned! Kind regards, Denise & family.

What a perfect place for a peaceful getaway! We have just spent 5 days (not long enough!) in this lovely, spacious caravan/cabin and can’t wait to book our return visit. The accommodation offers everything that you need for a relaxing break, and is set in a beautiful spot on the holiday park. It is comfortable, cosy and welcoming, and a perfect base to explore the Norfolk coastline. Dog friendly doesn’t quite do it justice - the bowls, bed and enclosed garden mean that your four legged friends are as welcome as the humans!

I’m so pleased that you , your husband & your two dogs had a peaceful, relaxing short break & that you found our cabin was cosy & comfortable. We look forward to having you all to stay for a longer visit next time hopefully! Many thanks for taking the time to write a review & thank you for the fab ratings! Kind regards, Denise & Family

This is a lovely cosy cabin/caravan in a tranquil and private setting. Really dog friendly. The kitchen has all the utensils you could need and more! Great to have an additional toilet in the larger bedroom. The owners are very accommodating and provided all the information you could possibly need.

Thank you for your review, Louise. I’m glad that you all ,including Tommy, your dog, enjoyed your stay in our cabin! We have improved many aspects of the accommodation since your visit & in response to your verbal feedback. As our first guest, your views were invaluable & we look forward to your promised return visit! Kind regards, Denise & Family.
