Owner Description

The Marina Village Holiday Park is located in an area of outstanding natural beauty and boasts a 200 acre freshwater private lake offering a range of water sport activities such as wakeboarding, waterskiing, banana boating, sailing, trout fishing and much more.

There is an additional flat, sandy and tranquil beach that stretches for miles with amazing grassy dunes, it is perfect for grown ups, kids, and dogs alike for running about, building sandcastles, beach combing, or just taking a relaxing stroll. Remember to check the tide times and enjoy the lovely views out to the Irish sea.

The RSPB Nature Reserve is on the doorstep of the Marina Village and overlooks the Duddon Estuary. It is a wildlife haven attracting birds such as breeding terns, ringed plovers, sandwarblers, red shanks and oystercatchers. In a peaceful and calm setting with rare plants, everything is as nature intended with a public hide open all day with free access, if you are lucky you may even spot a seal or two.

Coniston Water with the magnificent 'Old Man' is just 35 minutes away, and within 45 minutes you can be on the shores of Lake Windermere. Heading northwards around 25 minutes away is the 13th century Muncaster Castle. Wasdale Head and the stunning Wastwater lake surrounded by Red Pike, Kirk Fell, Great Gable and of course Scafell Pike and are just a 35 minute drive.

A few suggestions for the children and adventure seekers, Grizedale Forest has walking and cycling trails, some designed for families while other trails are designed for hard core hikers and cyclists. Grizedale is also a venue for 'Go Ape'.

Brockhole near Coniston provides a wide range of activities, events and 'Go wild' adventures.
You will find many other child friendly leaflets and activities in the Mallards information pack.

The closest town is Millom and is a little over 1 mile away with food stores, banks, post office, a petrol station, takeaways pubs and eateries. While the village of Haverigg has a beach cafe, a small food store, post office, pubs and a fish and chip shop.

Beautiful caravan in a relaxing setting. Very clean and well presented. The welcome pack provided was a very nice touch and our dog Alfie loved his treats. Other small details were extra loo rolls, kitchen towel, cleaning products, too many to name but items I have never seen provided in a caravan rental before .Bedding & towels also provided at no extra cost. Easy to book and owner very helpful. Guides for local attractions and information pack provided. The deposit was also repaid within hours of leaving the accomodation. Easily 10 out of 10.

Owner Feedback

Thankyou Pauline for your very kind remarks, we are so pleased you enjoyed your stay and hope you will come back and stay again sometime soon. All best wishes, Sue.
