Description

Seton Sands is opposite the beach where you can enjoy walks. The Site is only a short distance from The City of Edinburgh.

Scotland's capital city is a superb holiday destination for families interested in history, art, and culture. Instead of paying a fortune for restricted hotel rooms, think about renting this spacious self-catering chalet. Edinburgh's public transport No 26 will put you within easy reach of the city's main attractions. You and your family will have more space to spread yourself and relax. You will be able to organize your time just as you wish and enjoy your holiday all the more. It will be up to you whether to visit Edinburgh's restaurants or cook your meals just when it suits you. Choose to participate in activities on-site, enjoy the shows or just relax and enjoy the quiet.

Edinburgh is particularly famous for its Royal Mile, where you can go on a ghost tour or visit the Edinburgh Dungeons. Don't miss Edinburgh Castle, which is the most popular attraction in Scotland. The climb up to Arthur's Seat is well worth it for the panoramic view at the top. The Royal Yacht Britannia, moored at Ocean Terminal, is a must for anyone interested in boats or the royal family. There are the Scottish Gallery of Modern Art and the Dean Gallery for art lovers, both set in beautiful parkland that features sculptures by Henry Moore and Barbara Hepworth. In all, Edinburgh has twenty-three museums, including the National War Museum and the Museum of Edinburgh.

There are plenty of activities in Edinburgh to keep children entertained. For wildlife, visit Edinburgh Butterfly and Insect World, or Edinburgh Zoo with its delightful penguin parade. In wet weather, children will enjoy the Museum of Childhood and the Scottish Storytelling Centre at John Knox House. Why not pay a visit to Our Dynamic Earth, where children can follow an interactive journey of the earth's history from the Big Bang to the present day. During the Edinburgh Festival, there is plenty of street theatre aimed at children in particular.

Should you just wish to chill out you can always watch a movie on Netflix or Prime Video etc with FREE WIFI in the chalet.

Like any other capital city, Edinburgh can be an expensive destination, but renting self-catering accommodation is a low-cost alternative to the city's hotels. During the expensive season when the Edinburgh Festival is on you will save even more money; the price is from £420 low season to £660 high season for five persons which is excellent value. We do have a cancellation fee of £50. Keep checking our website for special offers. Visit in June or September when the weather can still be pleasant. On-site there are plenty of activities to suit children of all ages and events for all the family.

We had a lovely stay in this well equipped chalet. The host was first class & went out their way to make our stay enjoyable. If your looking for a no frills chalet which doesn’t cost the earth then this is the one. It had everything we needed & the location is only a few minutes walk from swimming pool, restaurant & entertainment. What more could you ask for.

Thank you for your kind words and so glad you had a wonderful experience

Stayed for 3 nights with our kids (11,9 and 3). A wonderful, spacious cabin and a fantastic host! We were welcomed with food to keep us going for the first day so we didn't need to shop and Margaret checked in on us regularly to see if we were ok or needed anything. Highly recommend! Also a fab location and site with top notch facilities. Lizzy, Swansea

Oh it was a pleasure to have you and your family and if everything made you happy then I was delighted Always a bonus if the facilities on site pleased you too, Thank you for taking care of my holiday home

This was our second time in this chalet and again we were not disappointed. The chalet was very clean and comfortable. The kitchen facilities are first class with more than enough for self catering. We were absolutely delighted with everything and at a very reasonable cost. Having WiFi was the icing on the cake apart of course from the very efficient and love!y host Margaret. Highly recommended.

Delighted that you had another wonderful experience during your stay. You have no idea how lovely it feels to hear how appreciative you are and makes all the hard work worthwhile. I must also thank you for leaving the chalet spotless. Hope to welcome you and our family back soon.

Margaret was very helpful when booking the chalet for the weekend. It was lovely and clean and had everything u could want. Beds were very comfy had great nites sleep. We had a nice welcome pack of things to get u start. So come right in and have a tea or coffee. 2 comfy sofas and a nice dinning table. Only thing is bathroom could do with a lock on it. Will defo be booking again. Is defo value for money. All I can say is Margaret was perfect host.

Delighted you enjoyed your stay and look forward to your next stay. Re: lock on bathroom door...this could be a hazard where children are concerned eg they could lock themselves in. However, I can see that a vacant/occupied sign may be helpful when there are all adults in van and I am looking into this.

It's sad to be home! :( well just home from what was a great chilled out weekend at Margaret's chalet at seaton sands holiday park, the chalet is in a great locaton on the park close to the centre local shop parks ect. When we arrived the chalet was cosy and spotless we could even just put our bags in and have a cup of tea, was a lovely welcome! The chalet has everything you need and more in it. Margert was great from start to finish from booking last minute till after we left. My partner really enjoyed himself as he loves fishing and he took his fishing gear and fished a few hours each day on the lake and caught many carp fish! ???? Great for couples, friends, families, golfers & fishermen/women! Would highly recommend! And will be back to visit again before the year is over or 2022! See you again. ???? xx

Firstly the booking process was so simple and efficient. Our host Margaret was a gem. She answered all my questions and kept in touch during our stay (especially after the heavy rainstorm). The accommodation was very clean, spacious and comfortable. The chalet is equipped with everything you need. We had a lovely holiday and the park facilities were Ideal for our three grandchildren. Our host certainly goes out of her way to ensure that her guests are happy. Thank you once again Margaret. I would have no hesitation in recommending this chalet and hopefully will use it when we return to Seton Sands.

I am delighted you enjoyed your stay in the chalet and especially pleased that the park's facilities proved ideal for your grandchildren. Was my pleasure having you as my guests and I look forward to accommodating you in the future. Thank you for your kind words

JUST SPENT AN AMAZING WEEK IN SETON SANDS HOLIDAY PARK. MARGARET, OUR HOST, WENT ABOVE AND BEYOND, FROM CHECKING WE ARRIVED SAFELY TO WISHING US A SAFE JOURNEY HOME. MARGARET'S CHALET IS SPACIOUS AND VERY COMFORTABLE. A PROPER HOME FROM HOME. EVERYTHING YOU CAN THINK OF IS ALREADY THERE. THE CHALET WAS SPOTLESS AND IN A GREAT LOCATION CLOSE TO ALL THE AMENITIES. PLENTY OF SPACE FOR MY GRANDAUGHTER TO PLAY OUTSIDE AND A SWING PARK CLOSE BY. WE SPENT A LOT OF TIME GOING TO THE BEACH. WE EVEN WENT TO PORTOBELLO BEACH FOR A DAY OUT AS I HADN'T BEEN SINCE I WAS A GIRL. THE HOLIDAY WAS A GREAT SUCCESS AND AS FOR THE MONEY WE PAID FOR IT, IT WAS A TOTAL BARGAIN AND WHO DOESN'T LIKE A BARGAIN. WE WILL DEFINITELY BE BACK AS WE HAVE ALREADY BOOKED AGAIN FOR SEPTEMBER. I CAN'T RECOMMEND THIS CHALET HIGHLY ENOUGH. A FABULOUS ACCOMMODATION AND A MOST GRACIOUS LADY AS A HOST. SEE YOU SOON JANICE AND FAMILY

Thank you for your kind words and absolutely delighted you enjoyed your stay Look forward to seeing you in September.

Beds where very uncomfortable very old fashioned needs a makeover and up to date decor it was also freezing had no central heating electric

I shall first address beds. These mattresses are brand new. I know it takes about 6 weeks for anyone to customise to a good mattress. The twin beds have only been slept on a few times due to site not opening till the end of July, and the majority of my guests have been couples. There are down duvets on beds and new sheets replaced every year Guests rave at how comfy beds are..(check reviews) Decor..the chalet is painted every two years and if décor guest refers to as 'no wallpaper' I am not a lover of wallpaper in caravans ... it can cause too many issues down the road. The walls are too thin. Heating there is rad in both bedrooms two rads and a fire in the living-dining area. Plus extra rads. There is a leather suite, glass dining table with 6 seats (leather dining chairs have scatches because a guest brought a pet against my wishes) Cost: payment was £280 for the week I rest my case ...unbelievably good value plus there is a welcome pack valued at £20/30 consisting of bread/rolls,.meat bacon, cheese, eggs along with coffee, tea kitchen roll cling film, baco foil, soap powder, etc. There is an outdoor table and chairs set for 2 (I get a lot of couples only) Large outdoor dining table for larger groups that has never been used. Bathroom. Recently refurbished with a large shower cubicle. The chalet is larger than a normal caravan and very spacious feels just like home. By the way, the carpets are 2 years old. The chalet is steam cleaned between each booking. Each year I review the chalet and decide on how I can improve it. I am having a gas hob and oven installed to replace the electric appliances and also a gas shower. I had previously taken out gas appliances and replaced them with electric. My reasoning behind this was safety. However during winter months too much electricity being used makes power go off. This can be so annoying I am also looking at gas central heating. This ought to resolve this issue. Back to the guest...If you look at all previous reviews one wonders if they are talking about a different van This lady, in fact, left me with food on dishes, food on cutlery food all-round glass table and food embedded in the carpet. To top it all she reported her 5 years old crashed his scooter into the door and smashed it. Kitchen rug was washed and replaced soaking wet on the floor! The glazier is having to find a replacement door as the glass cannot be fixed. Lucky enough guest left a day earlier leaving me time to deep clean and then sanitize the van as I had a couple coming in directly after her. Fortunate for me this couple had been previous guests and were prepared to still come. We closed off that section and they used the patio doors. However, it was too dangerous to allow children to come and I had to cancel bookings and cannot take any till the door is replaced which is proving difficult. May have to have a door made or try caravan dismantlers. This lady has cost me a great deal of revenue at a time when we have lost so much due to the virus. She was apologetic about the glass door and said they had all had a great time and said she understood if she did not get her deposit back and I informed her the damage was a whole lot more than the deposit (which |I shall have to swallow.) What I find funny is when the glazier came down he said 'what a heat in here' and we turned the rads off. So a very peeved lady at not getting her deposit back and I would have taken £50 off her deposit to pay the extra to the cleaner. I am not a very happy bunny either – the joys of being a landlord. Do I think she gave a fair review? Do you? PS I took a while to respond as I was waiting to see what the cost of the door would be but as yet still looking for a solution. We owners were needing all revenue possible to be able to pay our site fees. This situation has certainly not helped.

I went to the park with my daughter who is 12 and we had a fantastic holiday. The chalet from Margaret was excellent it was spacious and clean and the beds were super comfy. The welcome pack was really unexpected which had bread, milk, eggs, meat. Great value for money for the week we had and will definitely be booking this chalet again. The space outside the chalet was really big and loads of room for us to play on the grass and kick a ball around. Margaret was amazing from the minute I booked this always keeping in touch and checking if we were ok. I would definitely recommend this to anyone who wants a break away. Thank you so so much Margaret. We will definitely be booking with you again ????????

What can we say? Amazing welcome pack totally unexpected. Only about a 3 minute walk to the main complex/swimming pool but still peaceful at nights.Only had 1 problem and that was how to work the kitchen sink tap. Margaret talked me through it to put the handle to the right hand side to get the water out. Felt so thick. Duhh!!! So now you're aware. Ha ha! Thanks Margaret for a wonderful weekend away with the kids. Be back again next year.

So glad you had a wonderful time during your stay. These modern taps can be so confusing. I make sure I explain how it works to new guests now. Look forward to seeing you next year.

Had a fantastic holiday, enjoyed every minute. The caravan was: Quiet, fun, modern, organized with equiptment to food, relaxing, well ventilated and worth the money. Our friends from Africa came to have their first ever holiday, they felt welcomed and comfortable, they also enjoyed the space and were impressed at the location it was set at. They enjoyed it so much we extended their stay which worked out without a hassle. Thanks and we hope to be in touch again soon. We are so thankful.

We have recently returned from a short break at Seton Sands Holiday Park. We were accommodated in a chalet, booked direct with the owner. The chalet was very comfortable with plenty of room to move around. It was situated in a quiet area of the camp, in nice surroundings, but was very handy for the bus stop and not too far to walk to the amenities. All equipment necessary for a brilliant stay was provided. We would certainly recommend this accommodation to anyone looking to spend time at Seton Sands.

Thank you, Robert, for your glowing review of the chalet and surroundings I am delighted that you had a wonderful experience and it was a pleasure meeting you and your lovely wife.
