I have been doing private caravan lettings now for over 5 years. It all started when we bought a caravan at Tattershall Lakes. I was a customer service advisor and trainer at one of the big 6 energy companies and having been quite ill I wanted a job I could do from home with less stress. having bought the caravan I decided that rather than employ an agent or use the park to rent the caravan out I would do it myself. I was then asked by another owner if I would take on their 2 caravans an rent out for them. This then led to 2 more owners approaching me to rent out their lodges. I was doing quite well and our caravan at Butlins was being managed by an agent so I decided that I would do the bookings myself. we then bought a 2nd caravan mainly to use ourselves. Everything was going well until the dreaded Covid 19 came along. However we got through it and decided to upgrade our older 3 bedroom caravan and purchased a newer 4 bedroom caravan. In 2021 another owner who only wanted to rent out for a few weeks to cover some site fees approached me for help. To cut a long story short we now have 3 4bedroom caravans and 1 3 bedroom caravan to rent out in the main school holiday and occasional adult weekends at Butlins . I really enjoy my work and although it can be stressful at times having guests come back saying how they enjoyed their holiday and how great the caravan was and they will be back next year makes it all worth while. We are now a limited company so registered with companies house which shows how far we have come from starting with one caravan of our own to now renting out 6 caravans and 2 lodges with roof terrace( at Tattershall Lakes Country park).
