Owner Description

This is a new venture for Michael and I. We are eager to share this amazing luxury caraven and ensure you have a relaxing holiday that you will remember for years to come.

You will be find a welcome tray waiting for you on arrival consisting of Milk, Tea, Coffee and Sugar, all you will need to do boil the kettle and chill. Let the fun commence.................

Our van is a fully equipped 6 berth caravan comprising of a King Size master-bedroom with toilet on suite complete with Free view TV/DVD player, a twin/double bedroom and a spring based double pull out bed in lounge. We provide ample pillows and quilts for all guests. All mattresses/pillows are covered with water proof protection. Bed linen and tea/towels are provided where you will find beds made ready for your arrival. We would appreciate you providing your own beach towels. There is also a travel cot complete with bedding and a bed guard. All we ask is that should something be accidentally broken/or brakes you will let us know so as we can replace allowing the incoming guests the same comfort as you.

There is Free view TV/DVD player in the lounge. There is also a variety of board games/playing cards for older children and adults, a small selection of DVDs, colouring books and crayons to keep the little ones occupied. Also being near the sandy beach you will find buckets and spades for young and old to enjoy.

The van is situated on the sea front and has a front facing decking hosting new garden furniture set and sun parasol. The decking also runs along the full side of the caravan. At the end of a busy day on the beach or sight seeing, there is nothing better than relaxing on the decking, eating al fresco accompanied by a favourite bottle of wine or tipple. Watching the tide come and go, taking in the fantastic sun sets, watching the fishermen or just generally the world go by.

Throughout the day you can hear the steam trains chuffing and whistling merrily along. The train can take you on a scenic route to Minehead, where you will find a wonderful sandy beach, various shops, bars, restaurants etc and sea side amusements. Or you might just decide to stop off at the small harbour town of Watchet with its quaint shops, museum, the esplanade, numerous pubs, small cafes and bars. This is also where you can find the main bus service to various locations including Taunton. Then jump back on the train to Bishops Lydeard before returning to Blue Anchor.

For those of you who like walking, you are able to walk along the coastal path to Dunster and Minehead. If you were to drive to Minehead and beyond you will find the gateway to Exmoor, you will go through the small fishing village of Pollock pass through the famous Lorne Doone valley arriving at Lynmouth and Lynton where you will be able to visit their museum and read the devasting history that surrounds the town. A cream tea is a must where ever you decide to take a wander.

Back at Blue Anchor just a short walk to the left of the site you will find the Driftwood seafront cafe and to the right the Smugglers Inn offering freshly cooked meals through the day. There is also Cafe H on site which has a small shop selling essential items and serves a selection of scrumptious snacks and cakes, along with freshly brewed coffee and tea.

Also on site there are leisure facilities such as a gym, sauna/steam room and an indoor heated swimming pool entry fee is applicable or passes may be purchased at an additional cost. These allows you unlimited entry throughout your stay. IT IS STRONGLY RECOMMENDED THAT DURING THE HIGH SEASON PASSES ARE PURCHASED. The site does not accept walk in customers to pool during these times. Please request at time of booking. In addition there is adventure golf (fee applicable) and an adventure playground.

Hoburne Blue Anchor offers a relaxing family, friends or couples and of course not forgetting you beloved pet dogs holiday. Blue Anchor beach is dog friendly all year round. We only live 20 minutes down the road but when available we stay at the caravan, it allows us to recharge our batteries and feel a millions miles away.

From Easter to late September there is a car boot sale every Wednesday and Saturday (weather permitting) on the Home Farm field next to the Smugglers Inn. So if its a bargain your looking for then look no further.

We had a lovely week with great weather. The caravan was the cleanest and most homely than any other we have stayed in and we have stayed in a few! We enjoyed coming back to the caravan after a day out, sitting on the balcony with those fabulous views and supping a cold cider. We will definitely be back!!

Fantastic short stay had at the caravan by all the family. Warm welcome including buckets and spades which were quickly put to use, much appreciated. Caravan was very clean and well equipped, had everything we needed, notably a good shower. Great views being the foreword most of the caravans and great location generally, within a short drive of Minehead and Exmoor National Park. The caravan park staff were very friendly with good well kept facilities. Good size pool and adventure playground which the kids particularly enjoyed. All in all very pleased and would certainly recommend

We stayed for a weekend, the caravan is immaculate with a brilliant location right on beach front with lovely sea views. Julie was most helpful and we will definitely be visiting again. The campsite is very clean with nice cafe and a lovely local pub and restaurant just down the road.

We stayed at this static caravan for 10 nights in March 2019. We were very happy with our stay. The location of the caravan is excellent. Right at the front of the site overlooking the Bristol Channel with direct views across to South Wales. There is a minor public road which runs between the site and the promenade but during our stay it was not at all busy and is not intrusive. The unit has a nice deck at the front with table and chairs, overlooking the sea. The caravan itself is very well equipped in every respect and in excellent condition. It has full central heating. There are two flat screen tv's, a large sized one with DVD player in the lounge and a smaller one in the master bedroom. From the unit it is possible to receive the sites free wifi. It was reliable and fast enough to stream You Tube videos. The owners are very helpful and nothing was too much trouble The site itself is well run, with onsite cafe and launderette. Just outside the site to the left is an unrelated seafront cafe 'Driftwood' and about a ten minute walk to the right is the Smugglers Inn which serves food including a Sunday carvery. The West Somerset Heritage Railway runs along the back of the site with a railway station about a 10 minute walk away. There are a couple of villages a short drive away with Coop convenience stores. There are numerous eating and take-away options etc. Minehead is about a 10 minute drive with a full range of shopping and eating possibilities. We had a very comfortable stay and would certainly stay there again.
