The Orchards

Coronavirus update: The site is open from today, 4th July. Currently the onsite site restaurant and the live lounge are only open to owners; there will be takeaway food outlets, the onsite shop for food and drink and the launderette, for other guests. Haven will advise when or if facilities, such as the pools and entertainment, will be open. They advise that passes will not need to be bought while there are no facilities, so the caravan price is all that needs to be paid while this is the case. Due to the need for thorough deep cleaning of the van and outdoor items etc, there will be a gap of at least 24 hours between stays (hence stays are mostly priced for 6 days - shorter or longer stays possible on enquiry). Regarding bedding: when changing linen the pillow protectors will also be changed after each stay. No towels will be supplied but there will be handwash in the bathroom and the wc.

Walks around the sea wall can be accessed from within the site and there are several eating outlets (for takeaway only at present), as well as other options in St. Osyth.
Approximately 15 minutes drive away is Clacton on Sea and, in the other direction the historic town of Colchester , the great zoo there is hoping to open in July (as is Clacton Pier) but this is not confirmed yet. Colchester castle is also a must to visit, although closed at the moment.
Lots of other interesting areas to see including the port of Harwich and picturesque Constable country.

Normal time of collection of keys would be 3pm, with departure from van by 11am on last day. However there will some flexibility if the van is not booked out either side. During coronavirus restrictions Haven are asking for the approximate arrival times of guests and keys will be accessed via a keysafe.
