Owner Description

Our two x two bedroomed caravans are located on a privately-owned site on the outskirts of a pretty town called Cockermouth which is ‘a stone’s throw away’ from the Lake District. The small site has just been developed this year to accommodate the holiday caravans. Although the town of Cockermouth lies on the edge of the Lake District there are lots of amenities to choose from including cafes/restaurants, transport links (for those who don’t wish to drive whilst on holiday), shops (independent and chain) and lots of amazing walks and views of our beautiful countryside. The site is situated so that you will wake up each day overlooking the surrounding fields, hills and have a breath-taking view of Whiteside which looks different from hour to hour. For the animal lovers there are sheep, horses, deer, hens, and a cheeky cockerel called ‘Handsome’ to watch in the surrounding fields.

Due to our location and the close proximity of being on a quiet lonning, our visitors do not need to use a vehicle to go for a walk. By taking a 5 minute walk it brings you onto a river path walkway which you can either go left and head up towards Lorton and the surrounding villages (some road walking too) or go right and this will take you along the river and down into our bustling town. If you are lucky enough there is always plenty of wildlife to spot and fellow walkers to chat to along the way. There is also a route via the road into the town which is approximately a 20-30 minute walk. A street map is located in the caravan information folder for use during your stay.

For the more energetic visitor, there are lots of fell walks and other adventurous activities to choose from. If you are a keen photographer there is no limit to the views you will be able to catch on camera. Children's/teenager's activities can be found at lots of locations across the county. Bear in mind when visiting these may need to be booked in advance with those specific operators.

Our caravans sleep 6 people per van and include a large double room with wardrobes and an en-suite (w.c. and wash pedestal), a medium double room with 2 single beds with storage/wardrobe and there is a double pull-out sofa bed in the lounge. All bed linen and pillowcases are included plus duvet inserts, pillows and mattress/pillow protectors. Please note that hand/bath towels are not included.
The lounges have a wraparound sofa and cushions, large storage pouffe, dining area and a 32” freeview TV with DVD player.

The kitchens are provided with an oven, microwave, toaster, kettle and include the following kitchen accessories: cutlery, crockery, glasses, beakers, pans, frying pan, oven tray and oven dish, scissors, various cooking utensils, wooden spoons, chopping board, knives, bowl, jug, salt and pepper pots, place mats/coasters, vegetable peeler, tin opener, corkscrew, grater, oven glove, dish towels, washing up bowl, dust pan and brush, radiator airer.

Family bathrooms include a standard sized slide screen shower, w.c. and wash pedestal.
External area caters for private parking, small stepped wooden veranda/entrance into caravans and a picnic table.

Heating: gas, electric and water usage are included in the rental price.

Single overnight stay £125.00 (price includes a £50.00 returnable bond)

Please note:
On booking, we require a £50.00 non-refundable deposit (per each week booked) to secure your chosen dates. The remaining balance will be due 6 weeks before your holiday start date. If a booking is made within less than 6 weeks of your stay date, the full balance is required. The £50.00 bond(s) will be returned to the lead booker via bank transfer, if no damages/breakages have arisen after your stay.

We stayed for 3 nights in this lovely warm clean caravan .when we arrived Helen had left us a welcome pack ,bottle wine ,milk ,biscuits jams bread galore , what a treat .Helen goes above and beyond as a hostess and you won't be disappointed in any way . The overall service was fantastic, and comes top in my list of stays in Cumbria . Great views of the mountains from the caravan ,nice peaceful location and private . It's a must try . I will definitely be booking again soon . Many thanks to Helen and Andrew .
