This caravan is definitely not suitable for a family with young children. I received a text message off the owner on the day we was due to arrive on holiday, stating there was slight damage to the decking of the caravan. When I arrived I noticed this damage was not "slight" the decking was unsafe to use. All the wood had rotted away and the bottom end had actually collapsed. The latch on the door was broken so it couldn't be left open and slammed shut with the slightest bit of wind, the front door was broken and the key was about to snap. We counted over 8 dehumidifiers around the caravan all full to the brim with water (obviously been there for months), plates were cracked, pan handles falling off, damage to bedside table that was hidden with a coaster, and the caravan had definitely not been cleaned before arrival. When I arrived home I received an email saying the owner was with holding my bond as there was damage to the decking and bed side table. After sending pictures that I took the owner transferred the money into my account. She knew the caravan decking was unsafe before we arrived as she had arranged a company to come do a quote for new decking while we was there. They agreed it was in a shocking state. This is the first time I've used a private owner as I normally book through haven. Avoid at all costs. I have informed the owner that the decking should not be used especially by young children, I hope she listens and informs all families before they arrive at Reighton sands.
You could have phoned me if you were so unhappy not wait till now. All this has been reported AFTER i asked you about the coaster that had been pulled off and the pile of paint pickings in a heap under one of the posts, my cleaner who i trust 100% reported after you,d been in the things wrong she noticed, On the decking there is a plank raised up and i didn,t want you tripping over it although it is behind the seating area so you wouldn,t have needed to go on it, the decking man obviously said it wasn,t safe as he,s trying to get me to spend £10.000 on a new one. my guests haven,t come across any chipped plates or or pan handles loose, i didn,t know the catch has broken but you could have put a heavy patio chair against it, as for dehumidifiers had i known they bothered you on a pelmet above the curtains i would have got rid of them job to be done next, there is a new balcony ordered and will be fitted on 23rd sept, as you will notice most of my reviews have been 5 out of 5. M daughter goes in a couple of weeks, had it not been safe i wouldnt let her take her 4 year old daughter and her 3 cousins. Update caravan been checked and there is definately a catch on the door, no loose handles on the saucepans and new decking going on last week in september
