Other towns in the region to visit include Dolgellau, Bala, Fairbourne and Barmouth, which are great for a family day out at the beach. Craig y Llyn is worth a trip if you're a keen bird watcher, with some spectacular views of Dysynni Valley to boot. Take a ride on the Talyllyn railway and stop off at Dolgoch and Nant Gwernol along the way. Travel a little further afield and take a scenic drive to the watersports Mecca of north Wales at Bala, Greenwood Forest Park and the fascinating Machynlleth Centre for Alternative Technology.
