“Lovely caravan on a quiet park very near local amenities.”

You can walk to a couple of beaches in 10 mins. We had a great time. Lots of storage and coat hangers! Caravan was very clean. The skylight is a bonus in hot weather. Would definitely recommend.

The property

Location, Location ! What more can we say to introduce our caravan at the much sought-after Waterside Caravan Park!

Situated near Goodrington, on the Devon coastal path between Paignton and Brixham, it is the perfect mid-way point between all the best tourist attractions and beaches within the region.

This area is affectionately recognised as being the ‘English Riviera’, with fabulous coastal paths for walking, shopping promenades at Torquay and stunning beaches within a short distance of the site.

Our caravan is yards away from the Paignton and Dartmouth Steam Railway and with breath-taking sea views of Torbay.

It is a beautiful 6 berth, just over 10 years old and complete with a decking surround; allowing you to relax, and take in the views whenever you please.

Waterside Park is a more intimate venue, but is well known as being one of the best in the area - perfect for small families and conveniently closest to the sea.

There are coastal walks and two quiet private beaches within sight.

Although they require a little walk for access, it is well worth the effort.

More detail on the caravan: We have been told by many that our holiday home is a little gem, set right alongside the railway with views of the steam trains and with incredibly competitive pricing.

We deliberately hold costs at about 75% of comparable caravans as this is a labour of love.

We are not running a business to make a profit, we are just trying to cover our substantial site rent - which has been substantially increased to cover the cost of the park refurbishment - and provide a ‘value for money’ holiday.

Following feedback, and requests in our first year, prices are quoted for 7 day stays, but if you require a short break, weekend or M-F, please ask and we will try to work it out for you.

We supply pillows and quilts; you just need to supply the covers.

Our caravan is in very good condition.

It has a fully equipped kitchen with a gas cooker, central heating, double glazing, and an unusual central lounge layout.

Freeview TV, a DVD player, and free Wi Fi is included.

There is also an electric feature fire in the lounge.

The caravan features a double bedroom, with spectacular views of the trains coming up the hill from Goodrington, such a joy to see in the mornings!

The main bedroom boasts a walk-in wardrobe and plenty of storage.

In addition to this, there are two single beds in a second bedroom, and a twin fold down bed from the sofa to extend it to a six berth, should you wish.

There are separate toilets and showers attached to the bedrooms at either end of the caravan for convenience.

Overall, it is homely and comfortable and with central heating and double glazing, stays warm even out of season, during the colder months.

Facilities: Waterside Holiday Park is a Park Holidays site with all the usual facilities you would expect, although to use some of the facilities you will need to buy a pass direct from the site (not included in our hire cost) During Winter 2022 all park facilities were gutted and substantially refurbished with state of the art facilities, including an indoor pool and Jacuzzi.

There is a club and a bar with entertainment, from April to October.

The bar serves breakfast and daytime food.

There is also a children’s playground by the railway.

The camp shop is well stocked and surprisingly affordable.

Off site: Should you wish to get around, public transport is the ideal way to do it, no traffic, no exorbitant parking charges.

First Staff passes are also valid on Stagecoach buses!

The famous service 12 passes the site on the main road at the top.

This is a very frequent service which will take you to either Brixham, Paignton, Torquay and Newton Abbot.

There are many connections available to travel further, to places such as Teignmouth, Dawlish and Exeter, or you could even get the train to Okehampton.

You name it, you can do it.

There are also railway and boat connections.

There are boats from Brixham to Torquay, Dartmouth and Teignmouth.

Another possibility is to get the bus or train to Teignmouth, svc 2 /22 to Starcross and then boat across to Exmouth.

The selection is endless.

There are also many open top services.

Finally svc 120 passes the site going towards Kingswear, which also connects with svc 18 to Brixham so a triangle with svc 12 is possible.

If you are interested in getting out and about, there are a large number of pamphlets / brochures, and an OS map on the lower shelf in the cabinet above the TV.

About the location

No village

Chatsworth 1 mile; Bakewell 5 miles.

The pretty village of Baslow lies at the north end of stately Chatsworth House - home to the Duke and Duchess of Devonshire. The village has many unusual and picturesque features including a triple-arched river bridge guarded by a toll house whose doorway is only 3 1/2 feet high! Baslow offers a range of village amenities including shops, pubs and restaurants. Close by is Bakewell, the capital of the Peak District, and home of the famous Bakewell pudding (definitely not tart!), still made locally to an old and secret recipe. Bakewell is at the scenic heart of the Peak District, and with Alton Towers also within easy touring distance, there is plenty for the whole family to enjoy.
