The property

My Family are letting out our lovely caravan.

Our homely caravan is located on the wonderful beach based Holiday Park, Parkdean at Challaborough, near Bigbury in Devon. Our 2015 Darwin Caravan is one of a kind and can sleep up to 10 people and has 4 bedrooms and one sofa bed. The main bedroom has a double bed and wardrobe, the other 3 rooms consist of a caravan size double and 2 twin rooms with storage. The caravan has a shower in the family bathroom and a separate toilet.

The Caravan benefits from double glazing and central heating throughout as well as an electric fire in the living room. The kitchen includes a oven, microwave plus a fridge freezer and caravan sized storage space.

(There is also a Bosch Tassimo Which you can purchase coffee or hot chocolate pods from most stores) Outside the van, there is a secure deck with table and chairs area and one designated parking space with overflow by the main entrance or in any un labelled space .

Challaborough Bay is owned by Parkdean Resorts, is located on the beach which lies on the South Devon coast on the estuary of the river Avon.

The site has disabled parking opposite the beach with a ramp down onto the sand for easy access. Challaborough Holiday Park lies in wonderful coastal grounds boasting a leisure complex with large indoor pool with sauna, gym and baby pool, indoor and outdoor seating areas and full changing facilities.

The pool also offers scuba diving trials by there own trained instructors.

Or hire a surf or paddle board from the surf shop. Also on the park is a launderette, well stocked shop, large children's play area, restaurant, bar, takeaway food (fish and chip and pizza), amusement arcade and entertainment area offering a full and varied daily program for children and adults. Some park facilities are not all available all year round - please enquire for details.

Also in the nearby villages there are local pubs. In Modbury there are a variety of shops including a Co-op food, Spar, a hardware store, Delicatessen, butchers, pharmacy and Chinese and Indian takeaway.

From the site you can walk the coastal path or drive to Bigbury and Bantham.

Or visit nearby locations of Ivybridge, Modbury, Buckfastleigh, Dartington, Totnes, Brixton and Ashburton.

Further afield; the Plymouth city centre is only 40 minutes away. Challaborough is a great place to start and walk along the sands and the many coastal paths with wonderful views out to sea and across Bigbury Island and sands. Challaboroughs nearest big supermarket is in Plymouth or Newton Abbot, both about 40 Minutes away so we would suggest being prepared with a food shop ect because the local shops are limited due to being rural. Bed Linen, Towels and Tea Towels are included as well as Gas and Electricity (Not Beach or Pool Towels). Prices are per week and run from Saturday to Saturday.

In quieter months there is greater flexibility with the dates and we may consider short breaks.

There may be occasional SPECIAL OFFERS!!!! For further information about the caravan or the park please email us at booking23beachdrive@gmail.com. Please note that there is a weekly charge for the leisure facilities - payable at park reception. Holiday Park Facilities (In mid/ high season - Some facilities require membership - payable at Park Reception) Pub/Club, Amusement Arcade, Indoor Pool, Laundrette, Grocery Shop, Takeaway, Restaurant, Kids Club, Large children's play area. Local Attractions - Scenic Walks, Watersports, Golf Course, Amusements, Pubs/Clubs, Takeaways, Fishing, Historical Attractions. Please note some photos may differ where minor changes have been made.

About the location

KINGSBRIDGE

Salcombe 5 miles; Bantham 5 miles; Dartmouth 12 miles; Totnes 13 miles; Plymouth 20 miles.

The busy little town of Kingsbridge lies at the head of a marine estuary in the attractive South Hams area of South Devon. Kingsbridge is home to a range of lovely independent shops and coffee shops, as well as a 3-screen cinema and an award-winning pub. During the summer season there are estuary excursions by ferry to Salcombe which lies on the banks of the Kingsbridge Estuary, making it one of the prettiest towns in South Devon. Salcombe is famous for its outstanding coastal views, rolling countryside, and is a watersports paradise for kayaking, surfing, paddle boarding and powerboating. It is packed with boutique shops, high street brands and independent producers, restaurants serving freshly caught seafood, and Salcombe Gin and Ice cream! Kingsbridge is perfectly located as a base to enjoy the abundant wildlife in this Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB), which also forms part of the South Devon Heritage Coast. Visitors can take a walk along the Kingsbridge Quay, wander through the narrow alleys off Fore Street or visit the Shambles in Totnes, an Elizabethan market arcade. Around the South Hams area there are picturesque ports, such as Dartmouth and Salcombe, together with sandy beaches at Blackpool Sands near Stoke Fleming and the two sandy beaches at Thurlestone. There are a host of small attractive villages in South Hams offering interesting pubs, local farm produce shops and pretty rows of cottages, plus further afield the waterfront city of Plymouth is a vibrant centre, housing the National Marine Aquarium, historic Barbican Quay and plenty of night life, including theatres, restaurants and bars. Kingsbridge can be easily reached by train to Totnes and then a local bus service which will take you to Kingsbridge town centre.
