    It was an absolute pleasure to stay in it and our host was so friendly and attentive from the moment we booked. It felt so homely and you could tell that a lot of care and thought had been put into its furnishings and decor. We would certainly love to return.

The property

We have just upgraded from our lovely old caravan to this beautiful, 41' x 14' , brand new, 2024 Mini Lodge.

Many of our returning guests will be very pleased to see we have kept our unique style and give a 5* service which we delight in to everyone who stays. New decking has also been installed with 10ft at the front and new comfortable outdoor furniture will be added for Spring, this then sweeping along the side of the property past a secured gate with then another 8ft of decking for alfresco dining, thus making it absolutely perfect for our guests.

We have still kept some of the outside pictures until it is completed as we believe the plot on the park is one of the best. We will be happily renting our lodge on Shorefield Country Park from February 2025, so if you’re looking for a cosy, spacious homely holiday or short break accommodation in a beautiful location on the Park, please read on to see what we have to offer.

Our brand new 2024 Mini Lodge is a very luxurious, residential spec ABI Ingleton. It is a 41' x 14' model, so in-between a lodge and caravan size, making absolutely perfect for a family/group of 4/5 people and a dog. The lodge is equipped to the very highest luxury standard with a real home from home feel.

It is filled with lovely objects to give it that much loved feel inside.

Everything is top quality, yet very usable, so you can relax and not worry about anything as this is our holiday home too. It is double glazed and boasts the latest domestic gas central heating in all the rooms, with a modern long radiator in the living area.

Being of residential spec means it is very well insulated, so you can be sure of a comfortable stay in all seasons. There is also allocated parking for 2 cars directly to the side of the Lodge, so you won't be overlooking them from the front decking. The lounge area is extremely comfortable and stylish with freestanding sofas, one of which is a double sofa bed (bedding is supplied).

The huge sliding patio doors open up onto the new large sunny decking which sweeps around the lodge.

There is a 50 inch Smart TV mounted to the wall, with Netflix etc and a very attractive modern electric fireplace for cosy evenings underneath - this comes with a remote control for flame effects to use from the comfort of your sofa, plus a USB socket. The layout is open plan so before walking into the fitted kitchen there is a very versatile breakfast bar with 2 stools, this also makes a amazing space to work on your computer or even do a jigsaw puzzle or as meant to eat your breakfast.

Behind this great space is an entrance seat to sit and take off your shoes before putting them in the basket and your coat in the cloakroom cupboard so all neat and tidy.

The side door into the property is also here.

As for the kitchen, it’s fitted with deluxe units in a soft green colour with brushed brass finished fittings and comes complete with modern down lighters under each unit so again, very cosy at night. There is a full size gas oven with separate grill with extractor hood, full size integrated fridge/freezer, microwave oven, full size dishwasher and washing machine plus a composite black stylish sink and all the usual things like toaster, slow cooker, kettle, cafetière, pots and pans, and so much more.

There's also a DAB radio for quality listening. The dining area has a free standing table and 4 comfy dining chairs, there is space to bring the table into the centre of the kitchen if you wish.

The main bedroom has a king size bed and again is luxury furnished with double wardrobes, a large dressing table, a wall-mounted 32” Smart TV and USB socket.

The great part is it has a very large en-suite, with a full size shower, basin, WC and heated towel radiator. The very good size second bedroom has full size twin beds (great for putting your suitcases under), a lovely dressing table, wardrobe, drawers and a USB socket.

Both bedrooms are stylishly furnished.

Across the corridor is a large family bathroom, again with a large shower, WC, modern sink & heated towel raidiator, also loads of storage for your personal belongings. The Wi-Fi In The lodge is very good and your appliances will automatically connect to the Shorefield connection once there. We supply an abundance of dishwasher tablets, detergent for the washing machine, washing up liquid and cleaning products, loo paper and kitchen towel as well as shower gels and hand washes plus dog treats, poo bags and bowels.

Cooking essentials are also supplied along with tea bags, coffee, sugar etc.

There is an Iron, ironing board, airer, vacuum cleaner, hairdryer for your convenience too. Games, books, puzzles, a cool bag, binoculars and lots more are available for you to use. Bed linen is included and beds will be made up ready for your arrival.

There's also a heated blanket on the king size bed. Outside Area Going through the front sliding patio doors there is a large wraparound decking that is gated at the entrance.

Comfy outdoor chairs and a parasol, and to the side a bistro table and chairs, potted palms & plants are dotted about for a coastal feel. There is also a decorative picnic bench on the front patio and a charcoal BBQ is also for your use along with utensils (charcoal not supplied). There is so much more we could say, but hopefully the pictures will show you if this is the mini lodge for you to spend a fun or relaxing weekend/ holiday in. We are always very happy to answer any questions you may have. Additional Information If not cleaned by ourselves we will have a professional cleaning lady in who we have used for many years, she will make it perfect for your stay with fresh clean bedding, shower mats, tea towels (personal towels are not included). We also have everything checked annually, in line with Shorefield’s requirements for renting out. We're even happy to accept your family pet dog at no extra charge, please let us know when booking though.

The all important Leisure Passes are included in your stay which will save you approx £180 (2024 prices) per week for a family of 4.

Leisure passes are needed to use any of the facilities at Shorefield plus you can use all Shorefield Parks including Oakdene which is at Ringwood approx 13 miles away. We can also organise Go active vouchers to be used at Oakdene for a wide range of activities including archery, we have a limited number of free vouchers for our guests who book a weeks holiday with us if they would like to try this activity, please ask.

Cleaning after you vacate is also included in your stay and in quieter times entry and departure times can be made earlier and later with updates even on the day from myself. Entry time 3pm, departure time 10am Bookings & Conditions During the months of July and August we only offer weekly or fortnightly bookings, but please enquire about any other dates if they don’t meet what your wanting on the availability menu. Non smoking Lodge.

A £100 security bond will also be required when booking and refunded once the lodge has been checked over and no loss, damage and/or breakages have occurred or the need for an excessive clean.

Note: This property has a Good Housekeeping bond of £100.

About the location

No village

Chatsworth 1 mile; Bakewell 5 miles.

The pretty village of Baslow lies at the north end of stately Chatsworth House - home to the Duke and Duchess of Devonshire. The village has many unusual and picturesque features including a triple-arched river bridge guarded by a toll house whose doorway is only 3 1/2 feet high! Baslow offers a range of village amenities including shops, pubs and restaurants. Close by is Bakewell, the capital of the Peak District, and home of the famous Bakewell pudding (definitely not tart!), still made locally to an old and secret recipe. Bakewell is at the scenic heart of the Peak District, and with Alton Towers also within easy touring distance, there is plenty for the whole family to enjoy.
