“Very nice caravan , clean and tidy.”

Located in nice and clean caravan park , nature all around , quite place . Only issue was that we didn't knew to bring our own covers for blanket and own towels because it was not in descriptions , owner told us when I asked only. Everything else was perfect, my family enjoyed and kids loved it :)

“Caravan park was fine as a base and the caravan was comfortable but average.”

The double bed although comfortable was far too big for the room making it difficult to get in and out of. The whole experience was spoilt by the owner deducting half the security fee due to a misunderstanding about check out times and the apparent arrival of a non existent cleaner. Perhaps the owner should consider being more precise about departure times when texting and state this on the very sparse information sheet in the caravan.

“Lovely caravan to spend the week in.”

A little issue with the shower which was dealt with the same day with no fuss. Quiet park close to Cockermouth town and surrounding lakes. Bruno, our lab had an amazing time and settled quickly into the comfort of the caravan.

“Wyndham caravan park is an ideal base to explore the Lakes and Cockermouth is only a short walk away with a choice of dog friendly pubs and places to eat.”

Though the caravan has all the basics to cook a meal, which can be enjoyed sat out on the decking. The caravan park, is well kept, peaceful and everyone we met was welcoming and friendly. The caravan itself is basic and ideal if taking your 4 legged friends, like we did. We found the bed comfy and the shower was most welcome after a day in the hills. We totally did not miss not having WiFi, encouraged us to really switch off and relax. Jo, the owner, was welcoming and responded promptly to any questions we had before and during our stay. Overall, a lovely few days away. Thank you Jo.

“Stayed for 3 weeks whilst kitchen remodelled.”

Great caravan and despite mobility issues, was able to access easily and use all the facilities. Clean, well maintained caravan. Lovely quiet park. Fantastic neighbours and help from others in the park if/when required. Owner had excellent communication and couldn’t be more helpful. Highly recommend.

The property

The caravan park itself has a small play park for the children Dogs are welcome on the park provided they are kept on the lead outside of the caravan area Views of the mountains can be enjoyed from the secluded back area of the caravan on the the sun trapped wrap around decking. The caravan has a triple bunk room for the little ones to enjoy and king size bed in the double room with underneath storage. The kitchen is well equipped with a large fridge freezer, full size cooker, microwave, air fryer, kettle, toaster and coffee machine. There is a BBQ for the guests to enjoy with the outside eating area.

Note: This property has a Good Housekeeping bond of £50.

COCKERMOUTH

Bassenthwaite Lake 7 miles; Keswick 13 miles.

The small country market town of Cockermouth is situated in the quiet north-western part of the Lake District, a largely undiscovered and unspoilt area, yet only 13 miles from Keswick. The town is famous as the birthplace of both William Wordsworth and Fletcher Christian (of Mutiny on the Bounty fame) and Wordsworth’s Georgian family home, on the main street, is now a popular visitor attraction, owned by the National Trust. Cockermouth offers a good variety of shops, pubs and places to eat, but (of course) the main attraction of the area is the beautiful scenery and excellent walking in the northern lakes – Bassenthwaite Lake, Ennerdale Water and Derwent Water.
