“On arrival we were excited about our stay.”
Until we opened the door to the caravan. We were met with dirt in the door area and on wood surfaces as we walked in,not a great first impression. On further inspection it only got worse flooring looked ingrained with dirt, cobwebs hanging from cooker hood and on numerous areas on the ceiling and the shelving. Not just small cobwebs obviously been growing for weeks. Caravan very dated, full of owners items from loads of books,ornaments even a small exercise bike. Bedroom had mould growing on silicone which had a coat stand trying to hide this. We were so saddened by what we felt was not a very good standard of cleanliness or basic standard that we just couldn't stay so we just got back in car and left. There is a sign asking you to kindly remove shoes whilst in caravan I had a chuckle at this as I wiped mine on way out. Messaged lesley regarding all this and was told it was a cleaning oversight but wouldn't affect our seating or sleeping arrangements. When I replied that when your 1st impression is the caravan is dirty your not likely to want to stay. We were offered £30 to go and have a drink at club house but by time my wife read this we were on our way home. Messaged lesley this and she wished us safe journey home. Messaged again the next day asking for my payment for both linen and cleaning be refunded which she duly did but not for the actual holiday which we didn't have. Such a disappointment as we have stayed in many a pet friendly caravan which are a much higher standard in even the basics and most definitely in the cleanliness.
Unfortunately you arrived during the worst storm this year, the cobwebs was an oversight in cleaning that day , due to the patio furniture needing to be secured for safety reasons.
I absolutely apologised for this , and offered you £30 to buy drinks while you were having dinner at the club.
I don’t agree on the other comments that you have mentioned, as the caravan is clearly shown in the photos when you booked it ,showing a very modern interior , with a holiday beach theme.
The caravan is cleaned after every guest departure , and laid out with fresh linen and towels provided too for the new guests arrival.
The books, candles, board games, folding bike are all there , as the caravan is for families with children too to use. All ideal when the weather is not great outside.
Our guest book is full, with lovely comments from new and returning guests. .
